aargh, my local optician couldn't fix my glasses, after half an hour of mild cussing seems rayban uses unique screws for their frames and they don't stock rayban. Couldn't even wire the hinge as it's a concealed screw hole. These were fairly expensive.

from now on it's cheap ass glasses and lots of them

Ugh, what a pain! I'm sorry they can't be fixed. After an unfortunate incident with Versace specs (hence my advice yesterday to wire them together) I buy the cheap $40ish ones from Specsavers, and keep one for going out and one for work. I have to; the work ones get filthy with flour and passata and potato water lol, you can never 100% clean that gunk out of all the little grooves and nose pads so they just get thrown out every so often. The going out pair gets put to service as a work pair and a new going out pair is obtained.
