I think r/BlackPeopleTwitter was created first. Then r/WhitePeopleTwitter was created as a parody, but then kind of became a catch all for tweets in general.

I don't even know if it's a specific type of humor. Literally the top few posts are just tweets but black people, but not related to race at all. A few examples:
