F-Droid on Fire TV Stick 4K (discuss.tchncs.de)
submitted 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) by redd@discuss.tchncs.de to c/fdroid@lemmy.ml

I successfully sideloaded F-Droid Classic to my Fire TV Stick. Original F-Droid was repeatedly crashing so I went with F-Droid Classic.

Anybody did the same? Any recommendations for TV / remote friendly apps?

addr:city is very important and I advice to always add it to anything which has an address.

When somebody deletes this, I would count it as vandalism and revert the deletions.

My reasoning: The OSM project and community have not implemented, documented or defined such calculations yet. My mind could be changed when it's in place on osm.org and the logic available under a free license.

Its gone from F-Droid Store..

It looks like F-Droid does not have any apps matching your search string "Blockinger"

Not only internet. Soon everybody will use AI for everything. Lawyers will use AI in court on both sides. AI will fight against AI.

We are thrilled to announce that the OpenStreetMap Foundation has been selected by the Sovereign Tech Agency for a service agreement in the amount of 384,000 EUR over two years to ensure the stability, growth and modernization of OpenStreetMap’s core software.

Since this is not updated or maintained anymore, there is a spin off with very active development: https://github.com/00-Evan/shattered-pixel-dungeon

New OSM based Map Website.

We use open data from OSM.org , a platform with over a million volunteers world wide, updating the map, roads, locations etc in their area. This includes any shops.

Hopefully it keeps alive and does not die (like similar Qwant Maps)

Yes that is typically, because there a lot of mappers which are contributing to OpenStreetMap by aerial imagery. Thanks to you that you add stuff from places which you know by yourself. This is very valuable.

[-] redd@discuss.tchncs.de 25 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Exactly. OpenStreetMap has a big community which is contributing. And every change can be reviewed. Or reverted if its wrong. In the changeset there should also be a source tag like "aerial imagery", the Editor which was used and also which background imagery was used during edit. For example Bing Maps allows their high resolution imagery to be used for OpenStreetMap.

Fully open source, End to End Encrypted alternative to Google Photos and Apple Photos

Not yet fully since fingerprint is not supported in all variants.

Also with the "stability" topic. This can mean everthing from hibernation issues to power management.

I think Framework knows exactly why they don't offer preinstalled Linux yet.

That's correct. Such ceremonies should not be organized by government. If somebody feels the need to do religious/spiritual events, they should be organized privately.

So OP's headline should be saying instead: Reminder to CHECK your ~/.cache folder every now and then

[-] redd@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 2 years ago

That doesn't help outside of home. When we are in an untrusted network then the DNS mess makes us vulnerable for spoofing attacks.
