You're going to lose the ability to do it yourself if you keep doing that. I used to use AI occasionally for code until one day I tried doing it on my own and realized that I had forgotten how to do it without AI. I feel rather embarrassed to admit that, and imo LLMs are like the smoking of our generations and lots of people, including me, jumped on the hype train not knowing of all the harms it causes.

I think we are running into culture differences here. In the US we don't have separate roads for different types of traffic except for in cities sometimes. And even then you get drivers who get super pissed about having less road to hog cause the city added the skinniest little bike lane and walkway. Most places in the US do not differentiate between car roads, bike roads, and walking roads, so much so that I've never even seen a pedestrian only road before unless sidewalks count.

Walz is the guy who ran with Harris against the diarrhea doo doo fecal man. I don't expect anyone outside the US to know who he is.

My point is that bicycles should never be grouped with cars because of how different they are. Bicycles should probably have their own rules but if they were to be grouped with anything, it's definitely pedestrians and not vehicles.

There's a guy in my town who gets around on a motorized wheelchair which technically means he's operating a motor vehicle but it would be pretty insane to expect him to follow the same rules as a car driver, so it makes much more sense, for simplicity's sake, to classify him as a pedestrian even though he technically isn't.

I agree with that. Not directed at you, but I assumed people would realize that going through the stop sign is only really done at intersections that have good visibility (and low traffic, obviously if a lot of cars are around you'd probably have to stop) and I think I may have assumed wrong.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Yeah the "bicycles are vehicles" thing I've always found weird cause like, 5 year olds ride bikes, and it's very weird to call them a driver or a vehicular operator cause they are literally 5 years old. This is why bikes should be grouped separately from cars, since they are very different things.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Most people are only going like 10 to 15 mph on a bike. That's plenty of time to see the entire intersection as you approach. When I was 15 my back tire got hit by speeding car that ignored the sign. It was really scary and if I hadn't stopped before crossing I would have been going faster and not gotten hit. That's why when I look ahead, which I have plenty of time to do, I just go through, plus it's entirely legal too.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago

This is in Minnesota which is literally a mini Canada and the law was signed in by Tim Walz in 2023. Also bicycles are literally pedestrians and not vehicles.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago

I think you missed the point about cyclists having different traffic laws. In fact the reason why the have it is for safety. A bike can't speed up quickly like a motor vehicle can so it's safer to maintain speed when possible.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 days ago

The above post states this occurred at a stop sign and not at a light. They used the words "in my neighborhood" implying that this is also a residential area where there would be less traffic.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 days ago

As a cyclist it is safer to yield because bikes can't speed up quickly from a stop. If we maintain speed it's easier to get out of the way if we need to.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 3 days ago

My state updated their rules just three years ago. As a cyclist I have noticed a lot of drivers are unaware of this. It's possible there is recent legislation you are unaware of.

[-] Lumelore@lemmy.blahaj.zone 52 points 3 days ago

Nope! Cars and bikes have different traffic laws. Where I live what the cyclist did is perfectly legal because they only have to yield but not stop and they expected the car to stop as it should have.

I've been taking oral prog (200mg) for about 2 years now, and e for about 3.

I've been wondering if I still need prog, and if the positive effects outweigh the bad. I've heard conflicting information about breast growth, libido, weight gain, and its effect on the liver, so I'm not really sure if prog is something I want to take long term or not.

I'm content with the breast growth that I've had, and they seem to have stopped growing (or at least I haven't noticed any changes). And I don't really care about my libido tbh. Since I started taking prog I have been having weight gain issues but idk if that's the prog or just me, but I do try to be healthy.

Also I am aware that oral prog doesn't do much because it has low bioavailability and I don't really feel like doing rectal prog.

Feature Request: Gallery Improvements

  1. Instead of 📷 Image in gallery, put a compact view of the image there instead. This would make it easier to read posts with lots of images throughout, so that you don't have to keep going back to the gallery at the top each time.

Ex: One of these but for an image

  1. Prevent tiny images such as the badges that show a sub count from appearing in the gallery.

Example of such image: shields.io sub counter

Also, little bug with the gallery view: Copying the image link gives you the link to the first one, not the one you're currently on.

Also also, thank you a lot for making this app. I really like it and I understand a lot of work goes into it :3

I have discovered that I have AI slopies of me on YouTube. And not just that, but they appear before me in search results. They all claim to be animation channels, which isn't my main thing, but my username is unique enough that I haven't encountered anyone/anything else using it until the slopies showed up and I've had this name for like 10 years. My channel is so small though that idk why they'd even want to copy my name but they did anyways. One of them even has more subs than me but I assume those are all bots since it's a slop channel.

What's more is that I also discovered that a domain I was planning to buy got taken by godaddy, which I assume is because they want to up charge me for it. I honestly thought it was way too niche for that to ever happen but apparently I was wrong. I know registrars like godaddy do shitty things like buy domains people look up, so I check if names are taken with an icann lookup instead to try to avoid that. I ended up buying the domain with a different TLD than what I wanted, even though I'm tight on money at the moment because I didn't want my second option to get taken as well.

Anyways I very much needed to get that off my mind and I hope others aren't also having to deal with that but if they're targeting someone as small as me I assume many others already are. My name is pretty important to me since I'm planning on self publishing games with that name as well. I know I don't have any yet but I just recently graduated college so I'm still working on it.

I meant to make a piefed account a while back and never got around to it. Tried to do so today and when I clicked the link to get my code I got an error instead.

I even tried reloading the page after disabling all my plugins and still got the error (although the styling looked a lot better after disabling NoScript, even though I have blahaj marked as allowed anyways.)

Good fucking riddance.

I am also very happy to no longer need spiro. I AM SO TIRED OF PISSING.

The procedure went well and they said I recovered really well from the anesthesia. I wasn't groggy or anything and I could drink the water they gave me just fine right after waking up.

The best way I can describe what the pain feels like right now is when you need to piss like really crazy bad. (I don't actually have to piss though.)

I was going to write a bit more but I'm tired so imma just go to sleep now. (Also my autocorrect just tried to change sleep to localhost:8080 wtf)

Update: A lot of my pain is gone this morning and I feel a lot better. I found that putting ice on it helped a lot. Didn't really need much of the pain meds they gave me. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen are good enough.

Venting Post... (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

Sorry, this is pretty much just me venting, but it is related to me being trans.

Anyways, I got my first pair of women's glasses yesterday. I was very excited and euphoric, but I somehow managed to scratch them today while I was fiddling with the nose pads. Fortunately the eyeglass place has a warranty for lens scratches, but I unfortunately had to use it less than 24 hours after getting my glasses. They said they have never seen an adult scratch their glasses that fast...

I also have a hearing soon to get my legal sex changed however I also have jury duty. I had called the court a while back to see if I could reschedule and they basically said that it's my problem, not theirs, and now that it is getting close to time, I am freaking out because idk what I'm going to do if they call me in when I have my hearing.

On top of that, I also have midterms this week so I'm stressed out from that as well. I just drank the last of my alcohol, but unfortunately maladaptive coping mechanisms aren't actually that effective (Who would have thought).

Idk if that dogshit executive order applies to birth certificates or if it's just passports and other federal identity documents. As far as I'm aware birth certificates are managed by the state and I live in a blue state (Minnesota), so I'm thinking maybe I could but idk.

I'm planning on using my passport that I got a few months ago as one of my supporting documents but I'm worried that it might get confiscated. (My passport has an F on it, my birth certificate currently has an M on it)

Sometimes I have days where I look in the mirror and think "damn I'm hot" and other days I think "damn I'm ugly" (because I think I look too much like my agab).

I'm trying to figure out what to do to feel better on those dysphoric days other than just caving in to food cravings or bed rotting.

I imagine other people here probably experience similar feelings. When you aren't feeling good it's easy to cave into unhealthy habits. I'm curious as to what others do if they are having a dysphoric day.

I'm thinking of taking my dosage of 6mg a day down to 4mg a day so I can stockpile 2mg each day in case of an emergency. Or maybe every other day to stockpile 1mg each day.

I'm worried though about it negatively affecting me mentally, but I also know that if I do run out and don't have a stockpile, it'll be much worse.

Or maybe I could ask my doctor to prescribe me extra so I can stockpile without reducing my dosage?

Anyways, what are your thoughts on doing this? I know Erin Reed recently put out an article which mentioned it being done (which is what inspired me to make this post).
