This is a reminder for whoever needs to hear this that DEI does not mean setting quotas on hiring by race. That is a myth.
Instead, it's making sure that people of all races and genders are informed about the job opportunity so they have a chance to apply too. The best talent is then hired.
Today, DEI is used as a dogwhistle by MAGA who hates seeing genders and races other than their in-group at their workplace.
Trump is overtly trying to distance himself from Poilievre and pretend they're not aligned on right-wing politics.
Trump, Musk, Jordan Peterson, and many other far-right endorsements were terrible for Poilievre's polls. Now he's making weak, vague endorsements of Carney in hopes he can hurt his reputation too and get Poilievre in power.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is still in B.C., where he’s pitching life sentences for fentanyl traffickers and gunrunners.
Classic.
Poilievre is Canada's right-wing aligned with Trump. He will sell us out.
Stop wasting our time with these articles. They're deporting people because of white supremacy, not because they suddenly really care about immigration law which they are ignoring by black bagging people anyways.
Misleading headline. It should read.
Canada freezes Tesla’s $43-million rebate payments due to fraud investigation, bars it from future rebates over tariffs
Iraq, Afghanistan, pretty much every murican war except for Vietnam, Canada has accepted the USA's calls for help and lost lives as a result.
The meme is the US state ;) We still love our neighbours in the USA who stand with us against fascism.
Deplorable.
Thirty of us shared one room. We were given one Styrofoam cup for water and one plastic spoon that we had to reuse for every meal. I eventually had to start trying to eat and, sure enough, I got sick. None of the uniforms fit, and everyone had men’s shoes on. The towels they gave us to shower were hand towels. They wouldn’t give us more blankets. The fluorescent lights shined on us 24/7.
Everything felt like it was meant to break you. Nothing was explained to us. I wasn’t given a phone call. We were locked in a room, no daylight, with no idea when we would get out.
...
To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks.
Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there.
That wasn't an acceptable excuse at the Nuremberg trials.
