Yeah, I started reading that too; it's definitely dense.

I'm rereading Indecent Theology by Marcella Althaus-Reid.

  • The film had to have been released before 2009 as I remember seeing it with my girlfriend at the time. If my memory is correct, we saw it in US theaters around 2007/2008.

  • English language.

  • It seemed very post-apocolyptic/dystopian, probably still in the 21st century.

  • The main character was a woman, either white or tan skin tone.

  • A significant detail was a very tall (50-foot, maybe 100-foot) concrete wall keeping something (monsters, zombies, infected people, lower-class people, I can't remember exactly what) out, and there were automated turrets that would shoot anything that moved.

  • Either the main character or one of her supporting characters (rebel group, survivors, not sure) had a bionic eye that she/he throws somewhere for reconnaissance.

This has been bothering me for years; if you all can offer any suggestions on what this movie might've been, I'd greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: It was called Doomsday!

I've enjoyed some of Akira Kurosawa's works (Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Ran, Seven Samurai, Rashoman), and The Hidden Fortress is on my list, but I'd like to hear any of your suggestions for samurai cinema.

I never paid much attention to his debates, but from what little snippets I've seen, along with the "Prove Me Wrong" schtick seems to indicate he already decided he was right and others were wrong.

There's plenty of rhetoric and memes already, I'd like to avoid more rhetoric and memes, and I ask this question with genuine curiosity and earnest desire for learning and understanding.

Kudos to the photographer. That pic is dystopian AF.

I, too, am confused. I can only guess this is OP's cheap attempt to be angry at Netflix.

Hello, everybody. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that I'd like to install some Linux distro on to use as an eBook reader. Does anybody have any experience or recommendations for a distro that's touchscreen-friendly? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'm using Linux Mint on my main PC. I like it, but haven't tried it on the Surface yet.
