Sweden's broken up thrash act from the late 90's and early 2000's. Extreme thrash metal combining Kreator's early works, with Slayer's Reign in Blood, with a Sadus filter, giving it a nearly death metal sound. Grip Inc.'s fourth and final album - linked is the middle wedge of the album. This groove metal band inescapably incorporated thrash essence thanks to the fantastic drumming by Dave Lombardo, plus the songwriting and axe-wielding of Waldemar Sorychta (mental note to take a look at his other band Despair at some point).

Crusty blackened Motörhead worship from Philly. Not exactly sure which genres to nail this to, but it's got enough speed metal to post here. Voice is dirty and strained, sometimes a bit shrieky. Gonna link the title track again, but my fav is probably Curse of the Black Witch

Punky death/thrash with a blackened touch. Kinda fuzzy, kinda bouncy, it's a fun dark good time. The june 2026 debut LP from this band from Washington D.C. Linked is the title track, but it's short enough to recommend the whole thing.

Has anyone listened to this absolute original banger by Megadeth. The vocals are unreal, voice of an angel does Dave Mustaine. Much better than anything Metallica has ever done. Listen with caution, will blow your mind.

Hey guys. Just come across this super underground song, thought I would share the find. Heard of it whilst watching my favourite equally as niche and unpopular show (Stranger Things). Really haven't heard anything quite like it, really mind blowing shit.

Revisiting another of my discoveries from last year, this German band released a new LP and combines many wonderful elements coupled with excellent songwriting and high energy. There's even a decent instrumental in there - automatic inclusion to my playlist!

Gonna link this speed metal track with a few melodic solos and a great catchy chorus. Hope these dude continue to hone this style cuz I'm a turning into a big fan.

So yep. Mister Bungle. Fuckin weird group, some of the most out-there, avant-garde bullshit ever put to record was by them. This album is not that - it's actually rather boring by comparison lmao. Crossover thrash and a bit of a harsher vocal performance from this band's demo days, but just rerecorded, AND they got Dave Lombardo on drums, not to mention Scott Ian from Anthrax on rhythm guitars.

Linking the best song from the bunch, with a rather unfortunate name, but the main riff is really infectious. Album is definitely for fans of stuff like S.O.D. and not for fans of the usual Mr. Bungle affair.

New album by the German band with really bad luck in name finding.

It's not a super sharp shooter, however it's a good record from the DIY underground guys and ladies.

Current Kreator vibes are heard, however accompanied by lots of gang shouting and generally rougher vocals. I dig the bass that's rattling often in the foreground.

Hardcore/crossover and the groovier side of the Bay Area style thrash come together to make this album. The band seems to take heavy inspiration from Testament - I even hear stuff from those middling death metal albums through some of these tracks. Overall it's not bad at all, just a little on the nose with the hardcore elements.

Linking the second track as the crowd-pleasing mosher it is.

Dense af technical death/thrash with some jazz-fusion thrown in there for good measure. Gonna recommend and link the opener to their latest album, about a crash landing into some trippy shit. Album contains bits of Coroner, Atheist, and even some Ulcerate for those dissonant death metal fans. Only five tracks, but some are upwards of 20+ minutes long lol.

This groove/thrash band used to be split up but upon revisiting this album and researching their status, they seem to simply be "on hold" right now, so that's pretty cool for me lol. I've been a fan of theirs since the debut that came out 2007.

This second album, Black Rivers Flow, has more than a few melodic metalcore elements and even some clean singing so it's nowhere near as strong as the first, but I've cherry picked a few decent tracks to keep on rotation forever, this being one of them.

Despite the amateurish name and artwork, there's actual quality here. These Portuguese thrashers combine Teutonic and LA styles together on this debut of an LP and pummels you flat on your ass. Energetic and precise, the production is fantastic as well. Whole album is less than half an hour, but I'll link the best song of them.

Chimaira used to play a mix between groove metal and metalcore, with heavy thrash influence, having come into some popularity around the early 2000's. Upon revisiting old stuff again, I had nearly forgotten this album's existence, of which I was introduced to at a young age.

This album has some great songs if you're into this style of metalcore - chunky, aggressive guitar tones with shit loads of bass from the drums and 4-string contributing to a big sound plus a use of keyboards for horror-like atmospheric samples. Hard to describe the extra sounds they put in there lol. My biggest complaint this band is the voice, it can be very grating if you listen to more than one song at a time. Which is why I'm offering up only this one track right here!

Save Ourselves is a fantastic example of post-thrash and faster groove metal with some great riffs and a wonderful extended solo with the rhythms supporting it. Hope you guys don't hate on it too much xD.

Great black metal band from my youth playing a cover of this classic Slayer banger. They wholly make it their own, so it definitely leans more on the black metal side than thrash, just on the infernal pipes alone. Killer fucking solo though.

Everyone's favorite funny sounding band name is back with a single that fucks. Traditional thrash metal played very competently and totally catchy as all hell imo. Has a very NWOBHM feel in the main riff, and the solos are melodic enough; it's not gonna blow your socks off but it may loosen em a bit if this is your thing lol.

A note that this underground band seems to struggle with getting more attention as the Bandcamp only has their LPs plus some limited merch, Metal Archives doesnt have this single listed, same for RYM (much less, ANY single or EP). I'll still link to them, but they'll be less specific as my other posts.

Retro-sounding garage punk/speed metal band formed in 2010 in LA, California. Got a real Metallica Kill Em All attitude in some of the music, especially the opener of the album. But I'm gonna link the single they released before this album came out.

Following up on my post about this band from over a year ago - it's hard to imagine that I found this band before my big journey into crossover and didn't outright hate on it lol. But there is something decent here.

This particular metalcore release has a massive sound played through technical proficiency, with some fantastic guitar solos all throughout the album. This album of a mid-to-slower-pace veers pretty clearly into groove metal, but the faster bits qualify it just enough to post here xD. Gonna link the thrashiest song on the album, Steel Hand God. Also recommend track 6, Stare Into the Sun, for fans of Lamb of God.

Been going through my old discoveries of last year and falling in love all over again with most of it lol. Time for a revisit of this release, I think.

There's been a slight upward trend of mixing hardcore with death metal sort of recently (not metalcore or deathcore) and some of it has been hit or miss with me, but the stuff that combines with thrash sticks with me like glue.
