Nothing with "AI" is awesome.

[-] Solumbran@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

What conclusions? You literally just said that on top of using "AI" to slopcode your software, you could have lied about it, as if that was a defense.

Someone comes to point out the problems of using LLMs, and your answer isn't about using LLMs or not, but about lying about using them or not.

Why is everyone so nonsensical when it comes to AI?

"I could do worse than I do so don't criticize anything bad I do", strong stance

[-] Solumbran@lemmy.world -4 points 3 days ago

Yeah, that might be true.

The study that picks a handful of guys, and concludes that "many men" are like that, normalizing it and showing men as victims of the modern world.

Trying to understand incel culture to fix the problem is one thing, displaying it as something normal and quasi-universal is another.

[-] Solumbran@lemmy.world -4 points 3 days ago

Yeah that's why you communicate. You know, this amazing thing called language? That's the point of it.

If your communication is so bad that you have no idea whether you're raping your partner or not, then you should definitely not be having sex. That seems pretty absurdly basic, I don't even know why I have to explain it.

"Improvement" huh

Context: France's "left-wing" parties are politically placed on the "enlightened centrist" level, so basically allies of the right (and by extension, of the far-right).

The only actual leftist party is the one that (unsurprisingly) is having the most propaganda against, LFI, generally described as far-left extremist, violent, antisemitic, terrorist-friendly, and whatever crap like that.

The police is known to use "non lethal" weapons to mutilate protesters, that's whay they did here, so one teen got a hand torn to shreds from the explosion of a non lethal grenade (don't remember what kind exactly, but anything that explodes is obviously dangerous), another lost an eye due to a rubber bullet shot at their face, and I think another one got their teeth destroyed, things like that.

Are you making slop replies to a comment about your slop-software?

First step: amputate a few kids with grenades

Second step: pretend to negociate

Third step: don't do what you promised

Final step: more amputations

A simple little landscape (treescape?) made by hand from a brass plate, cut with a saw.

A handcrafted brass pendant made with a jeweler's saw. The play on contrasts shows the crane relaxing on one leg in front of the sun (or the moon, depending on the point of view).

Ghost earrings (lemmy.nz)

A set of aluminium earrings, cut by hand from a plate.

This is a design that I'd like to revisit; maybe by making the letters more bulky and visible. I'm not sure it's a design that appeals to a lot of people though, for some reason.

Well, not necessarily a pendant, it could definitely work as earrings too, but I only made one.

Made of brass, cut with a saw as usual, and a rivet done with a hammered nail to the horizontal bar movable.

Here the scale (pun intended) shows a bit more:

Alt text field (lemmy.world)

Hey,

When creating a post, the alt text field for a picture seems to expect a URL-style content (my keyboard automatically replaces the comma key with a slash, and other little details that make it feel like that), instead of a normal text, so I just thought I'd mention it since I don't think it's a very noticeable thing.

The app is great by the way!

This one was not easy. It is made of an aluminium plate under a brass plate, attached together by handmade rivets (tiny nails, that you hammer down on the pointy side at the back to flatten it and clamp the two plates together).

The big difficulty of this is the rivets, that are already not very easy (for me) to do, but here I had to shape them after bending the curve of the two metal plates. Why? Because if you attach them together, then try to bend them, the outer plate has a flatter curve than the inner one, which misaligns the holes of the rivets. And in the process, starts tearing them and causing damage and other problems.

However, hammering down a tiny nail, while having to make sure that the hammering is done in the proper way, on a non-flat surface, feels a little bit like trying to kill a mosquito with a hammer: it doesn't feel right, and you know that it'll probably end in a disaster.

At least, the little problems that appeared in the process are not too visible, but yeah, I'm not so sure I would want to make this one again :')

A simple bow with arrows, the bow is copper and the rest is brass. Medieval weapons make for simple but effective earrings, and work well for your next TTRPG game :D

I have also made dangling flail earrings that were fun, but maybe less obviously recognisable than these.

Another craft cut from a brass plate, by hand. This one tries to be rather delicate and not too bulky, and the coin shows a bit the scale of it.

Witchy neckace (lemmy.nz)

One of my more bulky crafts, also maybe more whimsical ones, but it was fun to make.

I later added cut felt as a background to give it more contrast, but I don't have a picture of that :/

This project was an attempt at making something 3 dimensional from just a metal plate, by cutting it with a saw and then just pushing it out of the frame.

Another craft made from a simple brass plate, this time the design relies on contrast. It's quite simple, but still one that I'm rather fond of, even though others might not feel the same.

It doesn't show very clearly, but the antlers are made from a cut in the plate, they are not engraved.
