Pretty sure there's a picture of Obama doing this too. It's just being respectful while performing diplomacy. Sure, you can argue that this shouldn't happen with Israel, but cherry picking R's doing this and ignoring ALL OF THE D's that did it too is just dishonest. This is misinformation.

This is legitimately the exact example I cite when explaining to people why I pirate. It's not just about about stuff being moved around across an ever increasing amount of services. The ability to pretend entire episodes don't even exist(super best friends and 200/201 have been banned for awhile now, long before this) is why I returned to piracy.

Others have posted earlier tweets of hers that are basically "if a woman can get an abortion and it's only her choice, then a man can also opt out of a child and not support it". Literally leopard face eating.

And it's also been speculated that Elon doesn't conceive naturally, only IVF. So why the need for a paternity test? I think if they did have traditional intercourse that actually is in itself an interesting fact considering the other children. What it means I have no clue, but it's an outlier.

Exactly. The turtle suit and "suicide watch" is because you get no blankets, the suit isnt particularly comfy, and a guard gets to bug you constantly to "check on you". It's harassment, plain and simple. They don't want to off him, they want to make him miserable.

As a custodian who is often treated like I might as well be invisible, this can absolutely happen. Those who show even the tiniest bit of respect to us are often the only ones and it is greatly appreciated.

Some dude was ranting somewhere recently about GitHub and "I just want the damn exe, not a bunch of stupid code". It became a bit of a meme.

I'm so sick of this revisionist bs. Plenty of us were outraged then and warned of EXACTLY this. Y'all reaped what you sowed. Now micro transactions and paid early access are the norm. We screamed and yelled to "vote with your wallets", and by god, you did. "It's just a few bucks" is the most common one I hear. Well, now EVERYTHING is "just a few bucks".

You won.

Really fitting since usually the correct one isnt any of those. It'll be the non-flashy, plain text "download here" link.

[-] fishos@lemmy.world 125 points 2 years ago

As it stands now, you can download all of Wikipedia for offline viewing. It's not restricted in any way. And since Wikipedia is looking for objective truth, not opinions, I'm not sure what benefit federation would do. You want it centralized, not broken up. What happens when two instances decide that their version is the only correct one?

I just don't see any benefit. This feels like when everyone was slapping "blockchain" on things because it was the current buzzword. What is Wikipedia failing at currently that decentralizing it would make better?

Bed sores are caused more by lack of care than long hair. It's an excuse. A properly attended person won't have an increased risk from long hair. If it was truly a concern, it could be put up in a bun/ponytail etc.
