If you don't need to scrape anything out of the bowl on your last couple bites then you're eating broth, not soup (consommé is a broth, fight me)
Or perhaps because it's easier to scrape down the sides of a rounded container with a spoon?...
Everything is different (read: unknowable) to our experience as humans. Plants are well known to react to stimulus and damage, some are very sensitive to it and have sofisticated methods to communicate the stimulus. From a philosophical perspective, there's no way to know that they would "feel" in those situations.
Does a lack of physical agency evolve into a tranquil fatalist acceptance or do they suffer in an agonizing silence? Similarly, does the limited insect cognition of crickets let them feel the dread of lurking predators or dull the intrinsic terror their ecological niche?
This is the problem I have with discussions on animal cruelty. There's an assumption that we can project our human experience onto almost anything. We have the hubris to implicitly or explicitly anthropomorphize creatures to the point of personhood. Why does a tree limb have to be a human limb in order for us to ethically consider it?
In my opinion, the only useful discussion is about our human reaction to cruelty/perceived cruelty. The shades of acceptance or repulsion will vary by our personal lived experiences (a bird might be a crop stealing pest or a beloved companion), but that doesn't mean we can't reach a stochastic answer on which behaviors towards others beings we find ethical.
An average person in a certain country in the 21st century finds human torture morally abhorrent, mammal abuse to be disturbing and the chemical genocide of many insect species to be mundane. Another person in a different place and time might disagree. Maybe our resulting ethical framework is objectively correct or entirely inverted, but the exercise shows us more about ourselves and builds our empathetic awareness.
What happened to your main account chief? Get banned from everywhere with sane moderation? 👋
Never said you were? I guess it's probably easy for you to hallucinate persecution narratives since you spend so much time flooding your brain with garbage. Thanks for proving me right I guess
bullshit apologism for red army rape and war crimes, claims it wasn't tolerated
Show Stalin himself, on record, expressing approval for war crimes
wHaT aBoUt UsssAa?????
Living proof you have to have some cognitive deficiency to subscribe to the tankie narrative. Go touch some grass or eat dirt or something, the internet is rotting your brain.
- one month old account
- every comment is repeating tankie talking points
Bro you're not beating the allegations
there was never any evidence of this being a policy or something tolerated by the officers
...meanwhile...
Have fun with a wench and take some trifle — Joe "War Crime" Stalin
Begone tankie
Let this be a lesson everyone: if you're going to punch a fascist make sure you don't stop until his stupid mouth can't say any more dumb shit
That has to be one of the worst guillotine designs I've ever seen, send this child back to school.
- no mouton
- curve is simultaneously less effective than a diagonal and harder to make
- tiny contact point with groove on the narrow blade side, basically guaranteed to jump on the way down or slip on impact
- no head basket or splatter shield
- no bascule, good luck shifting that body kid
- no stabilizing supports
This thing is gonna paralyze the guy, send the blade flying into the crowd, and cause a slow bleed death (if any)
stickly

Certain white guys will grow up listening to this and somehow end up cheering for fascists and complaining about their favorite bands "going woke"
