On Monday 24th August at 8PM EST, we received at letter from X Corp. asking to cease and desist the service XCancel. The service XCancel is stopped until further notice. We are seeking legal advice and won't share more details for now. Thank you for the trust you have put in these two years of XCancel.

xcancel is down

It looks like network traffic and steam survey data are very noisy. So it's every other month we get articles like "Linux hit a new percentage record" "Linux just fell down 2 percentage points, will it ever recover" The multitude of articles trying to click bait as much as possible is getting annoying after a while.

It makes sense in Terry A. Davis/Temple OS sense. Someone mentally ill needs everything to be symmetrical. They substitute o with Ⓞ in www.gⓄⓄgle.com I think they use fancy unicode to have a bearable symmetrical font; And someday they found that they can upload stuff to github and they upload what they made.

At first glance there is a lot of noise that look like an ARG but there is just too much random stuff. There are some binary blobs that are marked as executable. They might be malware.

Edit:

Found blender screenshots, firefox screenshots with some firefox extension config files, SVGs and PNGs, links to alternative 4chans, solidworks tutorials and blender VK groups

They are crazy for using VERY heavily riced windows that is ultra-minimalist white.

Russian hacker for sure. Might or might not have developed malware. I am more inclined for this to be a cloud backup hosted on github.

Edit2: The Filepath is crazy

Any linux wizards know why when my sound sources go to background and CPU is under heavy load the audio crackles?

apps tested: minecraft, vlc(flatpak), spotify(flatpak), other fltapaks
crackles on both bluetooth and minijack headphones,
disabling microphone, easyeffects, gpu screen recorder ( gsr-default_output) didn't help

I use blender to put the load on CPU but it also happens when compiling or gaming

I have increased stuff in cat /etc/pipewire/pipewire.conf

Not mentioned before: KDE connect. It doesn't need KDE to work.

Can you make an elevator pitch? I am still confused what problem are you trying to solve and, how it's different than existing solutions?

literally takes medicine for a psychotic disorder

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatbot_psychosis
I would STRONGLY advise to not use LLMs and chatbots then. There are early studies that link chat bot use to making some mental disorders worse. There is no link yet to actually induce one in a healthy individual, but you are not one, and I would mark it as potential risk for you.

supplemental tools for my lack of higher education

Chatbots might seem smart, inteligent and educated, as they are using fancy and complicated words, but it's a lie. They don't know what they are talking about, they will be sycophantic to you and agree with every falsehood that it might came across.

You can pursue higher education without paying a dime. You won't get fancy paper, but you can build an expertise yourself. There are plenty of textbooks out there. openstax.org is great resource to get high quality textbooks. I have watched lectures on youtube to get an education that wasn't available for me at the time. No one will be able to take that knowledge from you.

editing videos

What program will you use?

I have heard that DaVinci resolve is very hard to set up. as for Kdenlive, I have used it few times, and it felt very clunky.

I would go with mint if you have older hardware and bazzite if you have new hardware (especially nvidia graphics card). If you really want windows-like layout check zorin OS.

for actuall advice: I would try a bunch of them and stick with one where video editing works.
