If you're cool with Nazis and CSAM, sure.

Indian cooking techniques when it comes to spices, like tempering and blooming and dry roasting spices, map over to other cuisines. I got myself a little frying pan specifically for the task to reduce friction. I've also improved my spicing by learning when to add certain types of spices, e.g. ground spices not too early or they'll get bitter.

I'm not a biologist nor chemist, but worked for a while as a manufacturing and design engineer making laboratory equipment they would use so feel like I have slightly above average exposure to labs. I also took at least three undergrad classes in which we used bunsen burners in our labs. I have never heard this decontamination theory before and it sounds like BS.

Are there any practicing chemists or biologists on here? This sounds like something that would have been removed from actual laboratory practices a century ago and someone just wrote this quirky story for clicks, downplaying how much the practice is already long gone.

Infrastructure costs would be notable. Vending machines, ATMs, and other money-receiving machines are calibrated for current cotten/linen bills.

Impetus. Changing to polymer bills would take political will and we can't manage anything productive atm.

Personally, I don't want Trump to drive the change because he would end up putting himself on the bills, and other distasteful characters from history.

Nebraska. They should win against Ohio-not-State this week and I think they have a good chance at a bowl game this year.

2nd team is Iowa State; intra-state big'un Iowa State v Iowa is next week.

I'd prioritize universal healthcare, personally.

Yep. Even if it's 1 in a 1000, that's still once or more per week at a busy bar. Our bouncers closed their night when us bartenders were all safely to our cars.

My Fridays have been slowing down lately. And I work from home most Fridays. So late morning, early afternoon, I start cleaning up the house a bit and doing laundry so I don't have to do it over the weekend. After work, shower, clean clothes, and go do whatever I'm planning to do that evening. Or sometimes it's shower, clean pajamas, burrow into a pile of blankets and pillows for a movie night in.

People who hate on their spouses, bragging when they're "in the dog house". Divorces exist, Brent, you don't have to stay married to a person you hate.

I turn off biometrics and power down. They can ask for the unlock pin, I can decline until they produce a warrant and I can request an lawyer. My risk profile is sufficiently accommodated.

I can see someone with a different risk profile, say, an online presence showing vocal criticism against Trump and goons, and/or not white and/or not a native born US citizen and/or has a travel history to muslim-majority countries might want to take further measures.

I've just skimmed headlines and seen a short or two on the guy who gave LEOs the distress pin. I'm not sure why he didn't decline to give them his pin until they produced a warrant, but I think giving a destruction pin was not the brightest idea. But also, fuck the cops and double fuck border cops playing these racist, fascist games with people's lives.

Declining to share all personal details is not the same as lying. I don't lie but am very intentional with the personal information I share.

The stars are gone. The planets have disappeared. Only those aboard space stations or starships were left to witness the universe dim, giving the end a name: The Quiet Rapture. Now, humanity decays in the rusting halls of crumbling stations, scavenging barren moons by the ghost light of long-vanished stars. But one moon stands apart. In the darkness of the void, a scanner detects an impossibility: an ocean of blood. In a desperate bid for survival, the last remnants of humanity craft a crude submarine to explore the bleeding depths. They weld one soul inside to pilot it. But as the hatch is sealed, the terrifying reality sets in. Hope in this void is as illusionary as the starlight. This is not an expedition. This is an execution.

Have you had one? If so, did the medical professional conducting the challenge stay with you the whole time?

I had one years ago. The person administering the challenge put me in a glass chamber, explained the amount of methacholine would increase until it induced an asthma attack and that how much methacholine it took would determine whether I have asthma or not, then left the room for 10-15 minutes. Looking back now, it seems wild that one would leave when trying to give a person an asthma account. What if I had asthma and was stuck without help for 10+ minutes?

Curious what others have experienced, whether they were left to deal with a possible asthma attack alone or if they were monitored?

Watched my coworker move her cursor to the right edge of her right-hand monitor to get it to over to the left side of her left-hand monitor. When I offered to show her how to adjust her display settings, she said she was used to it and didn't want to change it. I don't think I can walk by her desk while she's working ever again.

What have you got?

I'm using Boost for Lemmy on Android and when others post spoiler tags, I still see the text that should be hidden until tapped. Being able to see through spoiler tags is keeping me from engaging as readily with spoiler-filled communities.

Is there any adjustments I can do to fix it or is it something that can only be done at app or instance or Lemmy as a whole level? TY.

Also New York and Missouri

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/anthem-insurance-cap-anesthesia-coverage-time-limits/6040608/

Anyone with an Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plan will soon have to pay out of pocket for anesthesia if a surgery or procedure goes longer than expected, according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

The health insurance provider said they will no longer pay for anesthesia care if a surgery or procedure goes beyond a specific time limit. This will apply to patients in Connecticut, New York and Missouri.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists said Anthem can pre-determine the time allowed for anesthesia, and if an anesthesiologist submits a bill where the actual time of care is longer than Anthem's limit, the company will deny paying for it.

Inspired by a post since deleted, I feel bad for probably coming off judgemental about the poster's taste in the movie that drove him to consider sailing.

The earliest desired media I can remember that drove me to figure out sailing was DC Talk, a Christian rock band. Pop music was not allowed in my house, so a Christian group was tantalizing and scandalous to a rebellious, young Vanth. Things escalated from there.
