I'm pretty sure if I wrote a book called the "Adventures of Harry Potter," I would get sued immediately.

Just call it Perry Hotter. Disrupting the female world of sorcery with his magic wand of love.

Here in the United States, we have taken the necessary and essential action of formally recognizing left-wing violence as a form of political terrorism that is a direct threat to our national security and survival of our republican form of government,

Oddly telling how he doesn't say "a threat to our democracy".

Prion diseases. Accumulation of different substances, like mercury, lead, strontium-90, and, a new contender to the list: micro plastics. And you'll want to have a look at a person's medication and likely want to make sure they've been off of it for a few days before consuming their flesh.

A story in pictures and a few words. So, Valheim's stupid asshole RNG sent me on half a world tour just to get to the Elder:

On the bright side, Haldor happened to be right next to the Elder. Like, really right next to it:

Usually I'd erect two or three indestructible pillars with the hoe to defeat the Elder. It's pretty easy anyways, but I wondered if it had the same restrictions as all the regular mobs when it comes to Haldor's force field. Turns out, it has. If you're inside Haldor's force field the Elder will just go on an erratic demented stroll through the woods (quite fitting) and just randomly shoot in all directions instead of attacking you.

Even easier picking than usual :)

In case you want to experience it yourself, the world seed is 3Wy3wVd6Lj

Well, that's why you add dots and stuff over the letters so it becomes "easy" to distinguish. Example Kurrent script:

I print these on stickers and put them on pretty much all letters and packages I send.

Illegible handwriting replaced with digital text.

I used to get up before my wife due to work. I sometimes left her sticky notes, everything from informative to shenanigan. I just rediscovered this one while looking for something else. Looks like I made grated apple that morning.

There was a building site next to our office and I stood at the window and watched the workers. A colleague walked up next to me. We stood there in silence for a while.

Me: "Sometimes I wonder if I should just fuck it all and become a gardener."

Him: "Me too."

Me: "I'm serious."

Him: "Me too."

We briefly looked at each other with expressionless faces. In silence we watched some more. Then we went to the next meeting.

True story™.

I actually had more success getting old windows games to run in modern linux with wine than in modern windows.

Story time:

My ex lived in another town and I went there by train. She waited for me on the station platform. I saw her first and took a detour over the neighboring platform because it was pretty crowded. I walked up beside her without her noticing me. Mind you, what follows was completely impromptu (we were both weirdos):

I looked sideways on her tits (she had nice really big tits, like, top 5% big). I spoke pretty loud so a lot of bystanders could hear it.

Me: Hmm, nice tits! Wanna fuck?

She checked me out from top to bottom.

Her: Sure, why not.

Me: OK. But, I gotta know what you taste like first.

Her: OK.

We went on to make the sloppiest wet kiss tongue-in-throat-style.

Me: Your place?

Her: Yah, let's fuck.

People looked at us in disgust, shock, or disbelief. Only one guy had the widest grin on his face. While going I gave her ass a good squeeze. The looks on the faces were priceless.

If only ...

I used to like C++. Over the last ~20 years it became a horrible language (imho). It now has more syntax than all other C-style languages combined. I try not to touch it (anymore) if I don't have to. ~7 years ago I got hired as a senior C# .NET developer (experience since .NET 1.1). I ended up doing nothing but C++ for the first year because people found out I could do it. I was the guy in that meme:

They likely would, if it was an Arch butt plug.

I really like lemmy and have stopped using reddit months ago. My only real gripe with lemmy is the title: when a conversation gets going in the comment section, that gets killed when the post is deleted, for whatever reason. I can't even go back to a conversation and have a look at the comment threads to "dwell in nostalgia" (or whatever) if the post to the comment section gets deleted. Piecing the threads together from the inbox and my comments on my profile, and continuing a discussion via direct messages is cumbersome and kind of antithetical.

So, feature request, I guess: Enable retrieving comment sections of deleted (removed from community) posts. Bonus points if new comments could be added after the deletion (/removal) of a post.
