And they say America has no culture.

[–] slurpinderpin@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Culture so bad the entire world watches our movies/tv, listens to our music…

It’s morbidly amusing that in a lot of ways, we’re kinda defeating ourselves with our own culture.

Jordan Peterson. Not even once.

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 4 points 5 months ago

Not with that attitude it isn't

[–] YoFrodo@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I think the boondocks invented this

[–] grue@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

The Boondocks referenced it explicitly as something that already existed (claiming Luther Vandross liked it).

As an Atlantan, I'm fairly certain a burger with Krispy Kreme doughnuts for buns was known to be a thing before that episode aired.

The Luther Burger

[–] braydan@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 months ago

Local pub served these as the "glazed and confused" burger. Sooooo delicious

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I don't think he'd go for this. He likes simple burger fixings from foodnstuff

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 1 points 5 months ago

And bacon with eggs

[–] Omgboom@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 months ago

Back in college there was a restaurant on campus that sold "chicken donuts". it was a piece of breaded chicken in-between Krispy Kreme donuts with a slice of American cheese, and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten

Coronaries on a cookie sheet

[–] random_character_a@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

...especially the corn syrup everything is laced with.

[–] PenisWenisGenius@lemmynsfw.com 4 points 5 months ago

But corn is a vegetable and vegetables are good for you.
