Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

“is understood to have told friends”

You heard it reportedly 3rd hand here first, folks.

"At least two people on Twitter said it, and journalism needs two sources right?"

More and more

Modern Headlines be like "Obama Told Biden to Fuck Right Off"

And then the article, "There's a possibility, in the multiverse, that there's a timeline where perhaps Obama thought about wondering aloud in private to his bestie that mayyybe Biden should think about if he should contemplate whether to set aside a moment to decide if he should spend a minute thinking about debating stepping aside, maybe."

Yeah. These articles are getting tiresome. If it's not right from Obamas mouth as he is endorsing the next person then get fucked inflammatory media

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 44 points 5 months ago (1 children)

First of all: bullshit title from a bullshit rag.

Second: if you can't quote that person or any sources and pull the whole "SOME MIGHT SAY" card. You're just Fox News and lying to make headlines.

Stop posting this shit unless it's confirmed. Read the damn article.

[–] FlowVoid@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Sadly, the title quote is not sourced to anyone.

Not Obama. Not to "close advisers". Not to "anonymous barista in a DC Starbucks".

Nobody.

Thanks Obama.

Reminder to tell EVERYONE to not only not listen to this, but to also put down the research pitchforks for a second and go all in Blue, regardless of the nominee. Don't stay quiet. Worst case you won't be able to speak safely this time next year.

If this is true, I wonder who his preferred replacement is, if not Kamala.

[–] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago

If this is true

[–] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

Obama runs down the ramp with a steel chair.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world -2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'm hearing rumors, but so far just rumors.

  1. Biden is stepping down as candidate.
  2. A speech is being written right now by a long time speech-writer.
  3. Biden will not endorse Harris, but will instead endorse a brokered convention.
[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I wonder if those rumors are from the same people that bring us all of these accurate polling over the past few elections.

Riiiight… insiders. Gotcha. (Wink)

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

✅ 1) Biden is stepping down as candidate.
✅ 2) A speech is being written right now by a long time speech-writer.
✅ 3) Biden will not endorse Harris, but will instead endorse a brokered convention.

Looks my info was correct.

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

Looks like it was. I stand corrected! What a weird time we live in man.

[–] mercano@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago

If people were going to pressure Biden to step down, I really wish they had done it back in November or December so we could have voted on a replacement in a primary, rather than one being appointed at the convention.

Nice try Russia...

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

To be fair, this is exactly the sign I’m looking for: Obama says step down.

This article isn’t it, but if it was that’d be that imo.

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The image from the link is scaled down super small on mobile, making it look like Obama is choking Biden.

Now it's my headcannon that this is a physical threat by Obama while he chokes Boden in front of a terrified crowd.

Imagination is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

[–] BreadstickNinja@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Headcannon is a gruesome but hilarious typo

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I didn't notice until now, I'm not fixing it.

[–] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

Holy shit the propaganda brigade is on fire today, aren’t they? They’re obviously agitated. Wonder why….

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

For the love of god, I hope Joe listens to him.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org -4 points 5 months ago

The former president is said to have studied polling data in recent days and concluded that Biden, 81, who served for eight years as his vice-president, has a narrowing chance of beating Donald Trump.

Well, if he studied the data…

Just say the man looked at the polls. He’s not some academic of elections studies. Wtf
