My phone received an update a few days ago and it went from Miui to HyperOS. Now my phone asks me to accept privacy policies even to change my default wallpaper. Fuck you Xiaomi

No they’re consolidating their adware

I remember running MIUI on my rooted htc desire z back in 2012 and it was very clear it had a lot of battery improvements and was an overall smoother OS.

Shame to see what it became.

Its difficult to stop using their devices because Xiaomi devices have exceptional hardware for the price and the ROM community is very active around their devices...

Xioami should disable ads atleast on their premium Mi smartphones.

I think you just avoid buying xioami products.

They tend to have great support for lineage os, which is nice

Don't worry. I had sufficient experience with them in the past. Won't be going there ever again. Considering, I use gestures with 3rd party launchers. HyperOS/MIUI smartphones are a no go for me.

That's kinda weird.

I've had a Meme11 Lite for a couple of years now and just bought another Poco. I don't see no ads whatsoever, after I told Wallpaper Carousel to not nag me no more.

Alright I use NextDNS across router / device level but like I say I get none of these complaints and think it's global releases for some?

Could be. It was a long time ago. Miui 12.5 on a redmi 7a. I had to turn off recommendations, turn off app scanning when installing new apps. Outside of ads, the broken APIs made my decision to never switch to Mi ever again.

Too late , I already decided to switch to custom ROM to get rid of this shitty bloatware

Don't buy this Chinese garbage, it's as easy as that
