I regret to inform them that that’s not how that works.

To the level where I wouldn't even know where to start

It’s a lot like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end.

You’d be wasting your time to try.

Does that imply that an all mighty and all loving creator God made cancer to prove his existence??

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Apparently. I guess that's why he's omnipotent but doesn't do a thing to stop babies dying of it all the time.

[–] Iapar@feddit.org 5 points 4 months ago

Only logical conclusion ist that god loves it when babies die.

Interesting, I now have eye cancer from reading that.

Evolution is a result of surviving environmental stressors and, well, surviving in general.

Case in point: this person's evolutionary lineage involved surviving overcrowded environments by causing everyone else to have aneurisms with just their words.

Weird takes aside, I do wonder why only some big species like elephants developed a strong resistance to cancer, and not smaller species

About blue whales I watched an educational video where it's said that they indeed do have cancer, but that it barely matters to them due to their enourmous size. I wonder whether it's something similar with elephants.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

It's not about size. The little naked mole rat also doesn't get cancer. I don't think we know why yet.
