"I award you no points. And may God have mercy on your soul."

A simple no would've done just fine

The moon is cooler because you can look at it without burning your eyes

[–] IrateAnteater@sh.itjust.works 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's also cooler because the temperature is lower.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Which is why you can look at it qithout burning your eyes

[–] evidences@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Pfft Sirius, aka the North Star, is nearly twice as hot as the sun and I can look at it without burning my eyes. Boom roasted!

[–] LostXOR@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Sirius, aka the North Star

I'm, uh, not sure about that.

[–] Crazyslinkz@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Except for those few times when it's in front of the sun.

[–] LostXOR@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If they're lined up just right, you still can! Only for a few minutes though.

The most incorrect thing here is saying that the moon gives us light at night

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Yeah! The moon is actually creating a vacuum that sucks up all the light. That's why the sun has to chase it away and give us new light. Damn moon, taking all our light! FUCK YOU MOON!

[–] thedarkfly@feddit.nl 18 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I'd argue it's the only correct thing though. Sure, it's through reflection, but reflection is absorption and re-emission so the light really comes from the moon.

[–] Lux@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

No, the night part is wrong. The moon isnt only visible at night

[–] null@slrpnk.net 5 points 2 months ago

He didn't say it was though.

[–] ieatpillowtags@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It appearing during the day in no way conflicts with “it provides light at night”. Those are both true.

[–] Malfeasant@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

Except that it doesn't provide light at night about half the time on average...

Your notification brought me back here and I got to lol again. Ty lmao

[–] Cosmicomical@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Wow this is some Ken M level of logic

[–] BlueLineBae@midwest.social 10 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Oh yeah this is total bologna. Everyone knows that the moon is made of cheese!

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

You're confusing me, is it bologna or is it cheese?

[–] CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Not a problem, cheese reflects light.

Source: I just put some on my sandwich and I can see it.

[–] superkret@feddit.org 9 points 2 months ago

Who the fuck wants light at night?
I wanna sleep, or see the stars.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

This is what happens when mom gives her noisy brat a tablet to look at while she finishes her homework

[–] Clent@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

These comments failing to parse the wording of this statement are hilarious.

We are a doomed species.

[–] portuga@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Besides the sun is way too hot in the daytime but totally cold at night, practically useless

[–] finkrat@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

It's like a turducken, you unwrap some stupid and there's a whole different stupid under it carefully prepared, I love it, well done

[–] oldfart@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

Same with noisy underperformers vs quiet workers

[–] wabafee@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

The moon is technically a mirror. It reflect enough light to get to us. It may not be completely smooth but it's large and close enough for us to see. You can think of it like someone's forehead reflecting light. The skin my be rough but it's large enough for us to see the light reflected.

[–] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 4 points 2 months ago

i would appreciate this joke more if it wasn't shamelessly stolen from F for Effort

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

The moon is just the sun’s backboard.

[–] NaoPb@eviltoast.org 3 points 2 months ago

Nah my man you've got it all wrong. The moon is a lazy bitch that only gives us little bit of light. The sun's the boss.
