Hi all, just logged in with an alt and noticed that all of the posts I had removed from my subreddit were restored. To the two existing mods, they all appeared removed. We had to add a third mod to re-remove the posts.

So there is some admin fuckery afoot. Protect your work and your reputation.

That’s not going to go over well in jurisdictions with “Right to Forget” laws.

They seem to already ignore the GDPR delete laws.

`Update #1: 2023-06-19 11:07

I received a response from Reddit pretty quickly after submitting it. The response told me that I must delete all of the posts and comments beforehand. I'm pretty sure this is in violation of both GDPR/CCPA as it might be physically impossible for a user to delete, say, one million comments. Of course, this ignores the fact that Reddit already restored all of the data that I've deleted.

So far ignoring GDPR wasn't a winning move for any company that did that...

It's not gonna work because the right to be forgotten covers personal data. If you signed up for reddit with your real name, then it would. If you signed up as u/beefsteakcowboy, that won't.

My first reddit account was my first name middle name and last name. It was not a smart choice m

What would happen if someone changed their real name to Beefsteakcowboy? I'm actually genuinely curious. I think some of the malicious compliance types actually would, to be honest.

If anyone changes their legal name just to fuck with reddit, I'll donate 5 bucks to their cause.

And then, what do they want Reddit to be from now? Any new comments, threads, subs won't be there in the future if active users go out, I can't understand them.

I'm having all of my sticky automod posts that have links offsite in my mod queue for every single post. I have to manually approve them. They show up within minutes of someone making a new post, the automod hits, several minutes later it's in the mod queue as reported.

For seven days, every day, twice a day I’ve been zeroing my account. This afternoon was the first time I had no zombie posts reappear. 8 years. Thousands of posts. 30k post and 180k comment karma. All. Gone. It felt good.
