With the release date now set for Suikoden I and II HD Remaster, Konami has updated the official site to provide profiles for the main characters from the first game. The five characters introduced include the four initial companions of the protagonist, who is canonically named Tir McDohl.

Been waiting forever for this game to be released.

Good to see Suikoden getting rereleased.

But I really wish Konami would treat its legacy content with the same level of respect that they seem to be having towards Metal Gear (ironic, considering their history with Kojima). Theyre blundering with Silent Hill, leaving Gradius/Kemesis in the dust, and left Hybrid Heaven to completely die off forever. Where is the Silent Hill Silent Collection, with the same level of accuracy and attention to bugfixing MGS Master collection is getting? Where is that for Gradius/Kemesis, etc?

The article really wants to remind everyone that the hero's canonical name is Tir, and at first I thought that meant the site was actually using the name. But instead it makes a point to not use that name and call him Hero, so now the article's insistence just seems sad.

Also for anyone like me looking for the date and confused by it not being in the first line of the article, it's March 6 2025.

The hero's name in the Japanese novels is Tir McDohl. So the name is correct.

I don't know how much improved this remakes will be but I played Suikoden 2 recently and it holds very well. I sometimes got a little lost with side characters or side plots. Hopefully this release will make it easier next time a play it
