Can we please just have normal short treks back but take it seriously? Some of those were fairly good, and were part of the plan for Disco and Pic.

Hell, there's even an important character from short treks that shows up in Disco, without any explained connection during the Disco episode. It's literally just, "hey I'm here and I'm friends with ___ character". If short treks was taken seriously, people might have actually watched it and been a useful tool in developing the smaller and intimate moments in New Trek.
