But it takes a special kind of comedic genius to reach the point where you go from being raunchy and edgy and counterculture to being a milquetoast "adult" for kids comedy movies.

Happened to lots of comedy greats. They get a following, they make some money and then a movie opportunity comes along that fits them and their comedy style well and then they get addicted to the money and then they sell out.

Eddie Murphy, Bob Saget, Steve Martin, Andy Kauffman (kinda maybe), George Carlin for a while before he came to his senses and went back to comedy, almost happened to Dave Chappele.

I feel safe in saying that we can add Jack Black to the mix, I wonder if he'll return to his roots or if he'll just stay a sellout.

Jack Black has always seemed very comfortable doing stuff for kids as well as his more raunchy stuff.
