Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Just imagine how much better everything will be once Trump no longer has a platform amplifying every inane thing that comes out of his mouth.

[–] jhymesba@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Honestly, the media will amplify this jerk because it generates clicks and views, and thus advertising dollars and engagement. It'd be nice if we didn't amplify this jerk here at lemmy, but ... well, I expect the 'I do what I want hur' response any minute now, so here we are. Trump amplified. The BS persists.

I wish that were true, but we still hear Hillary's opinion on stuff and she lost four years ago. I imagine they'll keep parroting Trump's nonsense as long as it drives clicks. Frankly, I think we'll have to put up with it until they plant his rotten carcass at one of his golf clubs.

In the sixty-two days since this account was created, it was made five thousand and three submissions to Lemmy.

That is once every seventeen minutes and fifty-one seconds, twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.

Considering that you can mute communities or users very easily, ~~I don't see a problem with this.~~ The submissions are on topic, even if I don't necessarily agree with them all.

Edit: After taking a closer look at exactly what is being posted, I retract my "don't see a problem with this" statement.

They had a "MRTOW" (Men """Reclaiming""" Their Own Way) community earlier this week, but it seems to have vanished, thankfully. From what I saw, it was just discount MGTOW while claiming not to be MGTOW

Hah hah hah hah hah.

Fuck you, fat ass

[–] jhymesba@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (2 children)

With how touchy the Mods are about us criticising Monk here, I suggest you clarify who the fat ass is. 🤣 It certainly applies to the Trumpster Fire, that's for sure.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Oh gross. I didn't even see who posted it. The vatniks running the account are spamming the community so much that he's taken over every single post almost.

[–] jhymesba@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Pretty much....

Cool, he's making an effort of learning to read. Good for him. 👏

Gets transcript, doesn't see the lies that "everybody" claims she said in it, says that 60 minutes not only edited out that one thing he currently is obsessed with, but left it off their official transcript. Says "see, that is why I didn't go on that show, even though every other candidate for decades has." Trump supporters think he is thus the smartest candidate in decades.

From this article, using the Associative Property of GOP Accusations Equaling Confessions, we can deduce that Trump interviews are "deceptively edited", Trump literally has no idea what he is talking about, Trump's interviews are filled with "epic word salad", and apparently the Trump campaign is violating campaign finance regulations.

Actually, I guess we didn't learn anything new here.
