Wed Oct 30 2024

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Tabak Oridjinal, now with 28 mm Gelousy knot
  • Razor: Thiers Issard 14 Médaille d'Or 1921 Exposition d'Algier Acier Spécial (7/8", extra hollow, square point, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

The penultimate Stankening of TabOKtoberfest 2024 was a nice one. The Médaille d'Or with the pitted surface is a smooth loud shaver that is a joy to use. I like its utilitarian design. There's nothing opulent about it. No fancy gold, no flashy special point design, just a big square point hollow ground that shaves well.

I love the character in these old straights. The ornate etchings and gold watches used in the early 20th century is really special. Great pic, btw!

Wednesday, October 30, 2024: Witchcraft Wednesday

A morning shave, everything well. Making progress on the kill – the omega of death has transformed into a C (or a U?) of death.

Have a good day!

I have several soaps with l'anneau de la mort and hope to convert them all to les croissants de la mort!

I can always count on @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social to come up with a phrase that I can steal.

Oct 30, 2024 - Halloween Week - Witchcrafts Wednesday - Wolf/Man

  • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Purple Hybrid 28mm Declaration Grooming B7 Badger Knot
  • Razor: Aylsworth Razors Drakkant Ti
  • Blade: Gillette Platinum [10]
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - Lycanthropy - Soap (Vegan)
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Lycanthropy - Aftershave (Alcohol Free)
  • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux - Confluence - Eau de Toilette

Lycanthropy has slowly become one of my favorite SW scents. It paired nicely with Confluence, and now I am out of my sample of the EdP. It might be time to restock soon.

Confluence sounds lovely

October 30, 2024

  • Brush: Omega - 10048 boar
  • Razor: Rockwell - 6C (R3 plate)
  • Blade: Bic - Chrome Platinum (2)
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Rhapsody (Soft Heart base)
  • Post: Chiseled Face - Natural AS splash
  • Post: Barrister and Mann - Rhapsody AS balm

First shave with Rhapsody since I received it in a trade earlier this week. Really lovely scent that I'm going to enjoy spending more time with. This was a wonderfully smooth, slick lather.

Have a great one y'all. ✌️

I love Rhapsody. Manages to be sweet and floral and rich without being heavy. Lovely really.

[–] snooting@sub.wetshaving.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

100%, it's also fairly spicy to my nose.

I'm definitely glad to have some!

SSL kill continues.

5 I think uses and I'm getting used to the Durham.

30.10.2024 - Halloweek 3: Dreams in the Witch House

  • Brush: RazoRock 400 Noir SE 24 mm
  • Razor: Leaf Thorn
  • Blade: snapped KCG
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - GraveFruit II
  • Post-Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - GraveFruit II AS; Natura Siberica ASB gel

2 pass head shave. Gave my face some rest as I currently have a bit of a sore throat (yay for everyone around me being sick atm).

It's Witchcrafts Wednesday, it's the season of the witch - and this tub features a skull with grapefruits! What a perfect fit for today.

GF2 is one of my all-time favourites, as some of you already know. It's firmly in my top 10 of amazing scents. It's fresh citrus without smelling like toilet cleaner. It has an aura of sophistication, something very intriguing, almost enchanting - true to the SW name. I never had the opportunity to smell the original, but this one is bliss. This fragrance was created by Shawn Maher and it shows that he's a very skilled perfumer. Yeah, it's a bit better suited for the warmer seasons. But this doesn't stop me from occasionally enjoying it even in winter!

Instead of rambling around about the concept of witches like an idiot, I'll just leave you some music that combines the young genre of 'Witch House' with old folk: Untitled Burial Mix 2

  • Brush: Wald Nimbus Chryselephantine 29mm A1 Fan

  • Razor: Dovo Bismarck 6/8" Full Hollow Round Point

  • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Black Watch - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Black Watch - Aftershave

  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Black Watch - Eau de Toilette

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

A very quick, but totally enjoyable shave today. I haven't done a Black WatchDay in a while. I gave some thought to making it a Black WedgeDay, but I have really enjoyed this Koma nagura on Black Arkansas edge that I have on the Iron Chancellor.
