For images where the text reads correctly left to right, but visual cues (like colouration, vertical proximity, or horizontal separation) lead you to try to read it top to bottom.

This is similar to, but distinct from, the more widely known “DontDeadOpenInside” format. In that case, the text reads correctly top to bottom, but visual cues (like colouration, horizontal proximity, or vertical separation) lead you to try to read it left to right.

The human-ish hand holding the gun is rather unsettling.

[–] fsxylo@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

It's my strong hand.

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

That's not a gun, it's just a black metal thing.

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I see it costs 169 "bucks"

[–] Thatuserguy@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

Absolutely terrible bucks to bucks ratio. Abysmal.

Literally anything besides the metric system.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Ok but even if we used metric we’d use this. Box freezers are common round these parts for hunters to preserve their kills

[–] Voyajer@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

They're just using the working measurement here

[–] HonoraryMancunian@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

I mean it still kinda works

[–] skyin7@feddit.org 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

how many metric persons is this?

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

About 0.674824 American persons.

So something like 2 metric persons? We Americans are quite large.

The conversion rate depends on that particular state's obesity rate

[–] Starb3an@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As a Texan, can confirm this is helpful for the local demographic.

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Local demographic here, and it's deer hunting season. I can corroborate this.

[–] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Could probably fit 2 deer in there though. Processed meat packs pretty tight.

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Depends on the size, how you have them processed, and how much of the backstrap you raid before it even gets to the processor.

Since whitetail are small and backstrap is delicious, yeah.

[–] lemming741@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

You get about one third the body weight in meat. Fully processed you could fit 3 deer in there, probably 4.

I'm sure they factored that in when deciding how to market the product.

Edit: But then again this picture must have been taken in some ass-backwards part of the county if they feel the need to market to rednecks, so maybe they were too stupid to think of that.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Right? Does the person who made the sign think that you just shove the whole deer in there and then hack off a chunk when you want dinner?

[–] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Wait, you don't? The cooking process removes the fur and organs.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

That would be bitchen!

[–] scutiger@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

You chop the head off and mount it on your wall. The rest of the deer fits in the freezer.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Questions:

  1. How many babies does it hold?
  2. How many pints of blood can I freeze?
[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

"Yes officer, this comment right here."

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

[pulls out badge] What seems to be the problem?

[–] sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

OP is using pints instead of gallons as a bulk unit of volume, I'm pretty sure they're a commie Brit.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

But pints are the "100 calorie" packaging portions.

Only commies watch their calorie intake.

[–] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Everyone should always have at least 1 freezer deer. It's just common sense.

[–] Voyajer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Exclusively freezer deer

[–] Hikermick@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

The trick is to fold them properly
