Transgender women will not be permitted to use women’s restrooms in parts of the U.S. Capitol complex, House Speaker Mike Johnson said Wednesday, following some House Republicans’ targeting of the first openly trans person to win a congressional election.

Is this because he wants to share a bathroom with Sarah McBride? Feels more than a little pervy on his part.

Why do I have a feeling she's going to get raped by one of these chucklefucks in the House and Mr. Diseased Johnson up there is going to cover it up and brush it away.

Edit: and before the downvote train starts, these sorts of hate filled conservative shitfucks have a very strong historical trend towards taking advantage of marginalized or otherwise weakened minorities that they think are easy targets, sexually or otherwise. Sometimes it's trans people, sometimes it's kids, sometimes it's disabled people. I've seen it first hand.

Every Trump supporter in my neighborhood is on the sexual offender registry, no joke. At first I thought "let's go Brandon" was some like NAMBLA rallying slogan because literally there are four sex offenders around the area and they were the only people two years ago with Trump and maga shit all over their dumpy little houses. I'd rather be in the bathroom with any trans person than any Republican.

You should be publicly advertising this to your local area.

There was no immediate reaction from most House Democrats, including leadership

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present, the Democrats.

New York congressman Tom Suozzi, a Democrat, who recently argued that "the Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left ... I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports." Other Democratic lawmakers have made similar claims in the wake of Harris' loss.

Cool. Make all bathrooms across the country gender neutral. That'll provide a lot of labor jobs, and then stupid people can't make stupid bathroom claims anymore.

Also, the "boys in girls sports" is just a straw man, and people who believe it should be ignored and voted out.

Hakeem Jeffries did address this recently.

I mean, I'm all for criticizing Democrats, but this is a very easy claim to make and it could mean nothing at all. "Tom Hanks did not immediately respond to accusations of homicide." Sounds damning but it doesn't really tell us anything.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 month ago

That's kind of fair, but this is also not a story that just came out of no where. They'd been telegraphing this for days. Have someone ready with a statement. Or just someone who can speak well off the cuff without running a strategy meeting and a focus group. An organization that is fundamentally partially about messaging shouldn't be unable to get their preferred message into a news story.

GOP sure loves to sexualize pissing and shitting.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Just make all restrooms gender neutral. How has this not been actively happening across this stupid fucking country in the last few years?

[–] karl_chungus@lemm.ee 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

One more way to keep us all divided and distracted from the real shit going on.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 22 points 1 month ago (2 children)

All right, better post guards at every gender-specific restroom, and require that people prove their birth gender before entering.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And be prepared to tell this guy he has to use the ladies’:

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 11 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Are we talking about restrooms which are open to the public? Because I could very well see quite a lot of "protest tourism" in the future.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

Anyone visiting the Capitol, presumably.

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Willing to do my part. I'll even squat over an urinal for them

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago

I think the Republicans call that "small government".

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Yay, you did it! You saved nobody from nothing!

How are you going to waste our tax money next?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

This is going to restore the prices of eggs to those halcyon days of the first donvict admin.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 month ago

Day one or sooner she should file a hostile workplace complaint.

[–] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

So now they have to use the same bathroom as him. Hilarious. I bet he hates that.

[–] 108@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Truly the important issues

[–] ScrollerBall@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Think all the transgender folks around DC need to have a shit-in to protest this

[–] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] themachine@lemm.ee 10 points 1 month ago

She said she had no problem following it, even if she disagrees with it. Hopefully she can hold her head up high and deal with wimpy bully tactics until this shit storm passes.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Hateful asshole.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Don't know if regular folks are allowed in the bathrooms but I'd say it's their civic duty to make the women's bathrooms stink to high hell.

[–] Daze@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Time to break out the ol’ catheter and use it to fill some supersoakers

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

So where are they supposed to relieve themselves, then?

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 7 points 1 month ago

On the Speaker's desk.
