For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

From Riosin: It is so obvious he doesn't play the game it's insane. For those not familiar with POE2. This feels like a person is supposed to be rank 10 best racer / car driver and when he is supposed to showcase his skills he doesn't know how to open the car door. He can not start the car up. He doesn't know what e-brake does or what paddles are for so he just sits there, pretending to turn the car wheel while making engine noises.

If he wasn't also a dangerous stupid rich powerful scumbag, this would just be sad. He really is like a maladjusted teenager.

It can be both sad and terrifying at the same time. Just like he's a enormous loser and rich beyond imagination at the same time.

Truth be told everyone is.

This idea of adults being grown ups and mature is bullshit. The most mature people I've ever interacted with are children. Adults have always been the most immature.

Today's kids play the adult role, eager to get older, pushed by advertising and social media.

Meanwhile, adults try to be the child they couldn't be, now with money and freedom to be a childish idiot.

What a world.

Let kids play and be responsible adults.

Depends on the person. The emotionally immature ones base their identity on roles and nothing else. Once you achieve the role you don’t grow further. The mature ones are in a constant state of growing.

wow I've seen the articles but had no idea it was this bad. He clearly hires people to run everything for him.

Why doesn't he just retire and play the game, that seems like it would be much more fun for him and also the rest of us.

The pure dystopia of a rich guy talking about trailing brain implants while piloting his boosted acc in a video game he does not understand is terrifying...

What's crazy is that he could have had a 10-20 minute convo with whoever set up the character to determine how it worked and what makes it good, and he probably could have faked it. Instead, he decided that he was just such a special and talented boy that he'd be able to wing it and just intuit correct information by looking at one number in a very complex game. Him calling the best unique gloves in the game trash because they weren't "high level" was just the cherry on top 😂

It would be extremely funny if not for the fact that he runs his businesses (and wants to run the US) with this same mentality. He thinks because he figured out how to make more money than anyone else with a public net worth, that he can become an instant expert on anything without the slightest bit of effort.

This is where I wish, contrary to my usual state, that I understood what people were talking about in a video game.

The last bit of that comment really got me. Fantastic.
