  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

With less than a week left in office, United States President Joe Biden is expected to remove Cuba’s designation as a “state sponsor of terrorism”, according to anonymous sources familiar with his plans.

The Associated Press news agency broke the story on Tuesday, citing US officials. But the move is likely to be a symbolic measure rather than a lasting policy.

I'm cool with all these meaningless changes at the end by Biden. It's shit that Trump will be fixated on reversing and will use up time and energy he could be using to cause NEW problems. Instead, we're just reverting back to how something was before.

That's assuming Trump has a limit to how much damage he can cause at once, which doesn't appear to be the case.

Biden should also take the office desk and board up the windows prior to leaving. Oh and give trump the bill for boarding up the windows

I see matching his pettiness.

Let’s just hope he keeps getting distracted and hires incompetent people who can’t manage to do anything right. Maybe we can keep our heads down for another 4 years, and magically come out on top. Ha ha haaa…

Ugh if this is the best we could even hope for I think I'm gonna tap out early. I felt pretty "give-uppish" after the election and I'm almost getting some hope back lately but I know it's going to be dashed after next week. I don't want to do Nazi fucking Germany 2.0. I really don't. I really feel like I'm too disabled to properly organize either myself or my community, and I don't know if I trust my support system to get me through this. We're so fucked.

Come on man, aren't you pumped for Nancy Pelosi's presidential run in 2028? I heard she was gonna campaign with George W Bush!

If you're not excited by this prospect you're a Russian Republican and you basically want Trump Jr to win! /$

Lol can't wait

Slap it on MEGA instead, one day before the orange idiot gets inaugurated.

Wow so I guess that’ll last all of 6 (or less, since he’s not actually done the thing yet) days

[–] oakey66@lemmy.world 18 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Lol. Should of done it year one. This is just optics that nobody is buying.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Plenty of Democrats will be pointing to this in the future as an argument when someone says both sides. These optics are what their grift is all about.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 9 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, Trump will reverse it and then democrats can be all up in arms about it. They'll suddenly start talking about what's happening in Gaza as well, I bet.
