I am sure this will be a nuanced and well written bill, only attacking MtF girls and women. I am sure that it won't affect intersex people that might be facing similar challenges through no "fault" of their own. In addition, I am sure it will have a provision to protect Title IX and keep women's sports healthy in our public schools since they care about it so much. /s Fucking idiots with no idea.

Clearly the nation’s priority.
Took too long for this to come about to combat the insanity of this whole situation.
Is it insanity? What egregious win did a trans kid have to defile the sanctity of organized sport? Or is it all media outrage being used to distract us from realizing everyone with a 7-digit-or-less bank account all fundamentally want the same thing, which is at odds with those with more?
Explain
Buddy is a bigot, they don't make much sense.
I've seen a lot of my fellow trans folk say the Democrats were going to support this. That Democrats are going to throw us under the bus and let our rights be taken away, supporting it even. Yet here we are with an actual vote on the direct subject of Trans folks' existence and whether we can participate in sports and only 2 Dems voted for it. 1 voted present. The vast majority of the Democratic party supports trans rights and will vote against shit like this.
When it comes to the military budget last year, which had the transphobic rider, a budget was on the line, they voted for the budget because of how important that was, regardless of how that was incredibly misguided.
Democrats still vastly support trans people.
Nah, impossible, I was told bLuEmAGa was just as bad as real MAGA and we needed to teach em a lesson!
It's also worth noting that dem house leadership spoke against it explicitly too. For instance, Hakeem Jefferies, the Dem House Minority Leader, wrote against it before the vote too
The House Republican Child Predator Empowerment Act does not promote fairness and safety in sports.
It will unleash horrific child predators on girls and young women throughout America.
Unacceptable.

The Dem House Whip, Whip Clark, made similar remarks on the house floor
While I am here, I will say to make sure to contact your senators on HR 28, regardless of party, so they know how strongly people feel about it and ensure it doesn't get past the senate filibuster. It can make more of a difference than you might think
When it comes to the military budget last year, which had the transphobic rider, a budget was on the line, they voted for the budget because of how important that was, regardless of how that was incredibly misguided.
We're just seeing how Democrats vote when they can't possibly block a bill, versus how they vote when they can pass something.
Do they not care about transgender men in sports?
They probably just assume that transmen will always lose to "real men" and won't be a "problem".
It will be fun to watch the conservatives rant and rage when that assumption is disproven, except that it will lead to more bad laws.
Wouldn't ftm hrt violate doping rules already?
I think testosterone is one of the controlled ones
Yeah, I think you are right. Would have to be a trans man that isn't (currently?) on it, and I have no idea what the rates are for that kind of thing.
Focusing on the important issues now aren't we? /s
I'm sure they're just confused. They thought their constituents were frustrated by the rise in long-dormant "eggs" hatching into their true trans selves, but really they were bitching about the literal rise in literal cost of literal chicken eggs in literal grocery stores. Understandable mistake to assume a metaphor there. /s
Now how exactly do you suppose this gets enforced? Because I'm betting it involves some creep being the authorized inspector of children's genitals. I'm sure nobody will be wielding that sort of role to sexually assault any children. Yep, this is just the perfect kind of policy to enact to protect the children from... checks notes... a "boy" unfairly beating "real girls" at girls' sports.
Remember this moment when swaths of stories about sexually abused children come out. I'm sure those stories will come out within a couple years of a bunch of stories about how girls' sports are suddenly seeing record low participation numbers "for some reason".
The horrifying statistics on the percentage of women who have been the victim of rape or attempted rape in their lifetime will be going up significantly as a direct result of this kind of legislation. Even if there were any real justification for actively discriminating against trans people, how could anybody ever be on board with this kind of direct consequence? What a disgrace.
Then they'll just say it's the liberals fault for not keeping women subservient. Somehow it will alway be the liberal/left/woke/[enemy of the day here]'s fault.
The bill faces slim chances in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
That bit is not correct, the new Senate has taken over and Republicans control the Senate now. However, it is subject to the filibuster so will need Democratic support to pass regardless.
I wonder if this bill is important enough to Senate Republicans to be the catalyst for rewriting filibuster rules. I'm sure they'll have no problem doing away with the filibuster the moment it becomes inconvenient to their power grabs, and that would be their right as the majority party, but it's the hypocrisy that pisses me off. Just like when they blocked a SCOTUS nomination in an election year, but had zero hesitation to ram their own SCOTUS nomination through a month before the election four years later.
Or Republicans will change senate rules to do away with the filibuster.
Just start a trans team, and allow cisgender people to join too.
