It a magnetic clip designed to assist with holding down folded fabric while sewing.

You got it first!

This thing can be fixed to a tabletop? or a belt? We're seeing its bottom side. The top side is used to hold something

I have no idea what it's called but it's for >!Sewing!<

I am almost certain of it.

Edit: I changed the app I used for Lemmy and now I can't do spoilers again God dammit.

Here's the formatting for one

Tap for spoilerAAAA! I'm changing in here! get out!

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I just use the webpage and the formatting never works. This place is held together with scotch tape.

I just gave up and switched back to my old app. No one app seems to have all the things together functional in one place. They all do one thing right and other things wrong lol.

Oh, hi! You again.

I just did a little inventory.

Block spoiler:

SpoilerSecret

Block spoilers are supported by Summit, Thunder, Sync, Voyager, Jerboa, and the Lemmy web interface.

Inline spoiler: >!secret!<

Inline spoilers are supported by only Eternity and Sync.

Boost and Connect do not seem to support either type.

Which apps have you tried?

[–] Majorllama@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You're too helpful haha. I was on sync but I swapped to boost because I liked some of the customization over there. Unfortunately it was already bugging me when I found out the spoiler is broken and that's when I just gave up and went back to sync. I'm not too worried about it. Thank you again though haha

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Are there any particular customizations that are important to you? Perhaps I could recommend an app...

[–] Majorllama@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I like most of the sync with is pretty clean aesthetic, but not being able to tag users unless I pay is lame.

Boost lets you tag users but you can't change the color of the up/down vote buttons and you I was unable to use spoiler tags.

I haven't tried any other but I did see some that showed the number of exact up and down votes each comment and post had that looked cool.

So I guess in my perfect world it would be an app that lets me use any colors for things I could want, has working spoiler key, lets me tag users and shows me the up/downvote numbers. That last thing being the least important I would say.

  • any colors for things I could want
  • working spoiler key
  • lets me tag users
  • shows me the up/downvote numbers

You might want to check out Thunder (GitHub, Google Play). I can confirm that it has all of the above features.

[–] Majorllama@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

spoiler

It is for sewing yes

[–] brian@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

What's amusing is your comment is the first time spoilers has worked for me.

[–] pastermil@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

I second this!

[–] Majorllama@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I do not understand how that works lol. Fuckin magic I guess.

[–] Ramenator@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, it is for sewing, got it at home just for that. It's to clamp down the fabric's edge for sewing it cleanly

[–] Majorllama@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah that makes sense. I just remember playing with it from my mom's sewing box.

This is a magnetic seam guide

Staple remover.

Edit: nope I’m wrong, it looks like an industrial staple remover but it’s not pointed and the part that lifts is not sitting flat
