Iran could easily put nuclear material in missiles ... remember all those missiles making a mockery of the iron dome last year?... and just dirty bomb the fuck out of Tel Aviv. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the entire reason for the attack, to test how many can get through.
The last attack from iran was definitely just a test/statement. If the surrounding countries or even just iran wanted to wipe israel of the map then they could and would. Luckily Israel is the most bloodthirsty entity in the area and everyone else mostly just wants to stay out of trouble as much as possible without looking weak.
