Look, I understand that the sequels made the prequels look good, but that still doesn't make any of them S tier

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
Or A tier.
Rewatching them they're still not good. Most of the characters in Phantom Menace are as interesting as cardboard. The execution of those is bad.
IMO they just get credit for trying to tell a tragedy and telling a more unique story rather than doing a soft reboot that meanders.
Revenge of the Sith has been my favorite since before the sequels came out. It's not even an unpopular opinion either.
It has like two good scenes plus that iconic Vader suit up scene, everything else is whack
Speak for yourself.
Strongly disagree. S-tier is reserved for the two movies worth watching in their own right: Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One
New Hope gets A-tier for the best in class special effects from that time period. It’s mid as hell compared to basically any action movie from the past 30 years (which is 1995 to now, mind you)
All others get C-tier or lower because they’re all half-assed cash grabs and are only worth watching if you’re deeply in love with the lore and just a smidge masochistic
I'm not so generous with this series
S: New Hope, Empire Strikes Back
A: Return of the Jedi
B: Rogue One, Revenge of the Sith
C: Force Awakens, Last Jedi
D: Phantom Menace
F: Rise of Skywalker, Attack of the Clones
I haven't watched Solo, so I'll not rate it. Rise of Skywalker was so offensively bad that I almost want to put it in a lower tier than Attack of the Clones, which was just boring. I liked The Last Jedi for the swings it took, even if many missed, while The Force Awakens played it too safe. Rogue One and Revenge of the Sith had good moments, but they also had serious problems. Return of the Jedi wasn't a home run like the first two. The Phantom Menace has redeeming qualities, but they don't make up for flaws.
I don't know you, but I know I respect this tier list.
I agree with everything except the phantom menace. I think it should be C tier. I love the prequels but when I rawatched them last, the phantom menace stood out as being particularly slow paced and boring
ooo yay star wars posting!
nah mate, ep 2 goes directly in b or c tier. Agree with the rest tho
Maybe it’s just the nostalgia, but I have always been a fan of Phantom Menace. Not sure I’d call any of them S tier, but at least relative to each other’s placement I think I mostly agree with this.
Nothing but facts detected.
Personally I rate Solo higher but just focus on the things I liked about it and ignore the things I don't.
1: The Falcon's diversion with the space monster is actually a really clever solution to a bunch of fansplaning about Han's infamous parsec line.
2: Donald Glover as Lando.
3: Lando should in fact be an actual pansexual, he gets two spots, cope.
4: It's literally the only film that shows blasters/energy weapons as dangerous as they should be. No little burn marks on your shoulder and you grin and bear it, no, they use blasters because it melts a fucking hole in you.
This list looks unlike pretty much any list I've ever seen, and while I don't agree with all of your opinions (TLJ is second only to ANH in my book), I respect your unique thinking!
