Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

Summary

Donald Trump and Elon Musk told Fox News' Sean Hannity that they believe the media is attempting to create a rift between them.

In a preview of their upcoming interview, Trump revealed that Musk called him to discuss this alleged media strategy. Musk nodded in agreement as Trump dismissed the media’s efforts.

Some pundits speculate their relationship will eventually fracture due to their competing egos.

The interview follows Musk’s recent Oval Office appearance, where he stood prominently beside Trump during a controversial executive order signing.

When you feel the need to tell others your couple is solid, divorce isn't far.

I wish, but I don’t think that’s the case here. It seems pretty clear that Trump isn’t speaking his own mind regarding Musk. His ego is too big and fragile to take all of this criticism with grace. These sound more like the words of his handlers than his own.

Trump isn’t speaking his own mind

He's been out of it for so damn long you're probably right.

Trump just wants to watch the world burn, and in Musk he found a way to do that without breaking a sweat

That would be correct. Dividing them is the best thing to do right now.

We should combine their names like Hollywood couples:

Musk + Trump = Mump

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

And the fanboys can be Mumpets.

Nah you have to start with Trump but not give him the satisfaction of his name: Trusk. Or a Russian twist: Trusky.

Mump

No no, they're on to something. Especially after confirming RFK Jr. How long until Mumps come back?

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 19 points 5 days ago

I'm not sure why Trump would think that, Musk explicitly told him they were doing fine.

Musk is in charge and Donny gets to shitpost on Twitter, is that not what he wanted?

Hate to tell you there sport, it’s not just the fucking media, pretty sure it’s a lot of the population as well

Including cheeto's own staff, I would guess...

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Every president needs a sidekick, and it’s fitting that musk bought a really dumb one for himself.

Does Trump look like a guy that dumps and cheats on everyone he's ever been with? Is he not the poster child of fidelity?

Trump is well known for his loyalty.
