The US and the invading country are discussing "peace" terms without inviting the invaded country. WHAT THE FUCK!?

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 53 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The same is happening with Gaza. We shouldn't be surprised at all.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 days ago

But this time it's white people!!?!!!!! \s

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Trump literally asked Zelensky for half of all of Ukraine's mineral resources.

Munich Agreement "Hey, I've seen this one, it's a classic!"

Russian invasion of Ukraine "How could you have seen it? It's brand new."

Two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.

Two wolves deciding what will be for dinner without inviting the sheep.

No shit! I'd worry I'd be drinking polonium tea, get chopped up with a bone-saw and then buried on a golf course for a tax break.

the US should officially have been no longer considered anyone but Russia's ally as of Jan 20. Russia, China, and the US comprise the new tripartate pact. Ukraine is about to get partitioned. what comes next is death camps. we know this because we've seen it before. each time the peace that precedes the culling is more precarious and more restricted in scope (the great era of peace following WWII has been brutal for the global south, for example), and the great culling more horrific and brutal than the last. 6 million jews were killed in the holocaust, and many more of other signifiers the Nazis deigned to eliminate. they did it all without access to the new, modern, killing technology we have access to now.

i beg you, slow these fascists down every chance you see. act as if there will be no survivors

we know this because we’ve seen it before.

We've been seeing in palestine for over 100 years.

Millennia. This type shit been happening for ~12000 years, ever since the first "civilizations" subjugated their people into sedentism through violence, both physical and economic. The Levant has been a hotbed for this type activity the entire time. Each wave the cullings get more horrific as a result of indifference on the part of the people who don't realize what's going on thinking things can get worse than they are now because we've collectively forgotten our history thanks to the people doing the culling divorcing us from our access to it. But I believe that someday we will all be free, and all humans of the earth will rest beneath the shade of trees our generation is planting and has yet to plant. It will not be easy to get there, as we see now, but we must keep speaking Truth:

  1. Scarcity is manufactured
  2. Poverty is enforced
  3. All hierarchies of race, gender, class, and national identity are socially derived and enforced to maintain the status quo
  4. None of us are free until all of us are free

China won't work with white colonisers that once destoryed the nation. It's literally apart of their core trauma of the century of humiliation.china is a historic and solo super power, they just want trade

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

that doesn't match their current stance towards russia, but we'll see

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 days ago

Current stance sure, china alone can't beat the USA backed alliance against it, china will try to build friends everywhere, it makes absolutely no sense for it to follow the western block. I'm also talking mostly historic which is also fair since they've always been a superpower but a not global dominating kind unlike Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, Britian, russia, America which you can factually prove in current or historical are the global dominating and exploiting kind. People assume if you like china I must love the CCP and Russia and the soviet union which blows my damn mind how black and white people think.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 days ago

China won’t work with white colonisers... they just want trade

These are the same thing.

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 days ago

China certainly has an issue with working with white colonizers. Subjugating the white colonizers though? I don't think they have any qualms about that. As long as China is allowed to top, they'll gladly let the U.S. become their bitch.

Putin is gonna promise the same mineral rights that Ukraine is negotiating with, as long as they eventually capture all of Ukraine. It'll disable the peace talks and Trump will think he's gonna make a ton of money by abandoning Ukraine.

[–] meowmeowbeanz@sh.itjust.works 18 points 6 days ago

The audacity of unilateral power plays masquerading as diplomacy. Washington and Moscow carving up spheres of influence over Riyadh’s tables while Kyiv’s chair sits empty—a grotesque pantomime of Cold War realpolitik resurrected. Zelensky’s absence isn’t oversight; it’s erasure, reducing a sovereign nation to collateral in someone else’s chess game.

Europe’s emergency summit theater reeks of desperation—too little, too late. Macron’s huddle resembles headless chickens clucking over scraps after the fox already took the henhouse. The “army of Europe” pipe dream? A Hail Mary from a continent realizing its pathetic dependence on a capricious America now pivoting to flirt with its own boogeyman.

Trump’s blunt instrument of imperial whims swings wildly, smashing decades-old alliances. Rubio jetting eastward isn’t diplomacy—it’s a surrender of principles to expediency, trading Ukrainian blood for cheaper gas and geopolitical trophies. The “broken” transatlantic bond isn’t fracturing—it’s shattered, ground into dust by the jackboots of opportunism.

It’s going to be kinda darkly hilarious when everyone else ignores what the US and Russia say after they meet up

[–] TheEighthDoctor@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

I'm also gonna do my own peace talks in my living room and no one is invited, very legitimate, trust me bro

[–] roserose56@lemmy.ca 6 points 6 days ago

Why they should in th first place? Did they ask Ukraine? Europe maybe? No! You can't decided what will happen without Ukraine concent.

[–] Nay@feddit.nl 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It's a proxy war, and the US is "mask off" authoritarian now, so neither side gives a fcuk what Ukraine thinks.

[–] lurklurk@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

It's not a proxy war. It's an invasion with international support for the defence of the invaded nation.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -3 points 6 days ago

What do they expect? Does empire ever meet with its victims? Was there a palestinian present when these creeps decided to genocide?

Ukraine's biggest mistake has been allying with the enemy instead of palestinians and many other people struggling against the same evil.
