Not a bad review, but I disagree with some of your conclusions. The Auran Empire bits are easy enough to remove or modify into something else. In my opinion ACKSII makes for one of the best of the B/X D&D derived neo-clones, especially if you like lots of simulation to drive game world verisimilitude.
