Found/new community announcements - there are numerous "announcement type communities - see https://lemmy.ca/post/612532
There is also !wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca
Before you request There are several resources available to find communities and resources and these have been pinned to the top.
- there are community search engines at https://browse.feddit.de/ and https://lemmyverse.net/communities
- there are numerous other "find a community" and "community announcement" .. communities (list stickied; if you find another, comment pls)
- we will publish a Community Listing (at an as-of-yet-undetermined schedule)

Hello! So long as you follow the rules you're completely allowed.
haven’t found anything that isn’t either dead or inactive
Well, we have a few times(a few thousand times?) fewer people here on Lemmy. All communities are tiny here. But do you really need hundreds of people around? Just find some community with regular new postings and ask whatever you need there. You won't find a drama, but you might get some answers.
Also often with these communities, it's hard to judge how alive a community is without posting to them.
You can make the first post after a month and still get a lot of discussion, if a lot of people were subscribed to it beforehand
Definitely agree. You post to a community inactive for weeks and suddenly there's 300 upvotes and 20 comments
