I thought that was the point of the domain verification for your handle? That way you can be verified as you have the same handle as your official website or business.
The example case they give is more that the New York Times account can verify that a given, other, account actually is the account for one of their journalists.
To do that with domains, NYT would need to create a subdomain of theirs and let the journalist use it. At that point, might as well let the journalist use their own domain as well as have the NYT account verify the journalist's account.
Coming from a technical side, I don't think that would be difficult. It's not like you would have to hand control of the subdomain over to them, DNS verification codes can just be given to those who's control the domain, they are public information. But that's just my opinion.

Post title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL format
Post URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefix
Opinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefix
Country prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.
