That's my best guess, I'm fairly ignorant about them but it's not too tricky. Bitter or brown birch, but I'm not keen on taste tests at this stage.

As far as i know boletes are safe to taste, at least in Europe. Tylopilus felleus is a mean little shit though, the disgusting gall taste stays on your tongue for hours.

I think i was wrong with tylopilus though, this one might be leccinellum sp.
