And yeah, with black men being the objects of white psychosexual fears this has a lot of opportunity to become yet another means of disproportionate suffering of black men at the hands of the justice system and for eugenics.

For every 100 sexual assaults reported to the police against girls and women, only 18 lead to a prosecution.

So imagine what that number looks like for all sexual assaults against women and girls.

No State government gives a tiny shit about women getting raped. It's just a cudgel to punish poor men and maintain the illusion that law enforcement protects women in America.

Yeah, I've seen how little cops care first hand. In fact, they managed to focus more on the race of the perpetrator, while ignoring the footprints that clearly indicated that they were wrong about how he got in.

If the justice system actually cared about victims of sexual violence they'd focus on tried and true known methods of reducing recidivism and they'd actually test rape kits

Always be skeptical anytime anyone uses an argument of this form. There are tradeoffs for everything, but this phrasing only serves to stop people from weighing them fairly.

Oh, and the above quote comes from the co-sponser of the bill, who is a Democrat. Just in case you thought this was a Republican problem.

Draconian laws have the effect of turning abuse into murder. On the other hand, we absolutely need to be castrating abusive parents. Break the skull of your infant, it gets taken away, have another one. Over and over. This society is so damn ignorant.

My family fostered, and had 3 children from the same woman, one after another over the years. I lived it, so maybe educate yourself about the world before correcting me. We don't live in a good world, no matter how much you want to believe it.

Parents who abuse or kill one child often go on to harm another, yet the U.S. lacks a national system to prevent them from having or regaining custody of future children. Despite prior terminations of parental rights, many go on to reoffend, a systemic failure in child protection.

Way to cowardly backtrack on the serial child murder allegations, a thing that does not happen. Why are you not posting evidence of that? Oh right, it's because you made it up.

Yes, you likely will get children in and out of the foster care system, because drug addiction tends to be a really big issue, and not sure if you're aware of anything, but people tend to relapse a significant portion of the time. However, that isn't child murder, a thing you said happens, so let's focus on that. Is the child murder in the room with you right now?

I don't know that'd I call preventing child rape "morality policing" for either state but I suppose it is.

I'd argue that the means are barbaric and obviously ripe for political abuse and corruption.

Adult males were fathers of 24.3% of babies born to mothers aged 11-12 years. The mean age of fathers was 22.7 years. Adult males were fathers of 26.8% of babies born to mothers aged 13-14 years.

My teenage mother didn’t marry my father (she was 15, he was in his twenties), but she did immediately find another guy to marry and get knocked up by. She was so fucked up by this that she told me that my biological father was an entirely different adult man (who she had never had sex with but had a crush on). If I had been born male, then she would have named me after a classmate she thought was cute.

If anything, castrating a sex offender makes it _easier _ for him to commit offences.

Far less DNA evidence plus the relative ease of cis men getting testosterone and erectile dysfunction pills.

I might be okay with castration for violent rape. The problem is when it's considered a sex crime for an 18 year old to have sex with a 17 year old. And a lot of other things are branded as sex crimes that shouldn't be. And Republicans want to make it a sex crime to be gay or transgender

Mostly cruel and pointless, of all sex crimes against children for example only a minority are sexually motivated

Much of this crime is perpetrated by people that can't "fit in" with other social groups so this action may increase the likelihood of reoffending
