I'd never even seen this game before! Zelda 2 is my very favorite Zelda game to re-play, and I saw this mentioned in a list of games similar to it.

The game bounces back and forth between a Zelda style top down action exploration game and an auto scrolling shoot 'em up. Both are great and a lot of fun. The music is good, the graphics are great, the game is hard but fair (so far), the main character is flippin awesome, a cyborg who transforms into a spaceship. There's tons of weapons and rooms to explore.

The biggest drawback is the password system is atrocious, but hey, we have save states nowadays.

Did anyone here play this a lot growing up? Can you beat it?

Never heard of this one, but it looks like a lot of fun! I'll be playing it soon, thanks for the tip.

Loved this one growing up but I was terrible at it. The music is fantastic!

Adventure of Link was an awesome game. Was a massive step forward from the previous iteration and introduced me To the whole the random encounters While exploring. That could be tedious but was so much fun to explore the map! My personal favorite for Zelda games of that era.

It's absolutely epic - I LOVE that game. I still remember getting in trouble with my brother and I for staying up all night binge-playing that shooter.

This looks great. I’m going to grab this next. Can’t believe I’ve never heard of it.

I had this game my NES back when it came out and absolutely loved it. I still probably play through it every couple of years.

I had to pry myself away from it last night. XD I think it was the corridor 3 boss that I couldn't beat? It was the one eyed boss that shoots lasers, second time fighting him. "Wait forever for the door to open." That one.

I completely missed this one. I’m going to find it this weekend.

Thanks for sharing!

Can you recommend any other games that remind you of Zelda II? That’s also one of my favorites.

Did you ever try Gargoyles Quest? That definitely gave me some of the same vibes.

Well, the Game Boy is my favorite, so I was really excited to get Battle of Olympus, probably the most Zelda II game for Game Boy. Just reading the instruction manual I was like, this is Zelda! It appears to be a direct port of the NES game.

But if you just want more Zelda II, I recommend loading up some of the incredible rom hacks, some of which are entirely new games!
