Weird how you name Democrats when Republicans are responsible and the Republican president was her co-conspirator in child rape.
My guess is that it comes down to how effective the minority party is at stalling the actions of the majority party. It feels like when democrats have the majority, they don’t do much and get shut down by the republicans at every turn. Compare that to how the republicans are just steamrolling everything this year and the democrats have been extremely ineffective at doing anything to stop them.
The Dems are the Washington Generals.

For sure, republicans deserve nearly all of the blame here, but not criticizing democrats for never learning from their mistakes, rolling over in the face of everything that’s going on and not having a plan to deal with this ahead of time when it should have been extremely obvious to anyone paying attention that this was going to happen is not a good idea either.

Yeah the accountability chain here is:
President is accountable to Congress via impeachment/recall. Congress is accountable to the people via elections.
The people opted to not hold Congress accountable, and Congress is a bunch of cucks that refuse to do their jobs, and the Supreme Court is clearly choosing to not even try to enforce anything... but the ultimate truth is "people chose this". Very sadly. The American people chose this executive, this Congress, and indirectly this Court.

Congress is only kinda sorta accountable thanks to gerrymandering. As soon as it became clear that Republicans are at risk of losing seats in 2026, they went to update the gerrymander
Yeah they can skew things and make elections harder via gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc. but ultimately the plurality of Americans either didn't vote or voted R.

They have been. Congress basically stopped holding any votes at all once they started trying to amend every piece of legislation to include a requirement to release Epstein files
