I found the whole discussion stupid and pointless at the time because the title should match the actual title, not the basic Wikipedia style guide.
Wikipedia
A place to share interesting articles from Wikipedia.
Rules:
- Only links to Wikipedia permitted (an exception is made for news about Wikipedia, where outside news sources are permitted)
- Please stick to the format "Article Title (other descriptive text/editorialization)"
- Tick the NSFW box for submissions with inappropriate thumbnails
- On Casual Tuesdays, we allow submissions from wikis other than Wikipedia.
Recommended:
- Use the search box to see if someone has previously submitted an article. Some apps will also notify you if you are resubmitting an article previously shared on Lemmy.
This is so clearly and obviously the answer that it's hard to believe anyone legitimately believes otherwise. The title of the movie is the title of the movie. The way it's capitalized by the studio's official publications is the title of the movie.
And furthermore, this precedent is already fully established on Wikipedia, because the entry for iPhone is written as iPhone, not Iphone
"What's the difference?"
"One is the title. The other is not."
i.e., "READ THE GODDAMN OFFICIAL WEBSITE, YOU POMPOUS IDIOTS."
Drives me nutty.
A certified Wikipedia moment
READ THE GODDAMN OFFICIAL WEBSITE, YOU POMPOUS IDIOTS.
Which XKCD?
Edit: Took some hunting. Here it is: https://xkcd.com/1167/
The one in the wikipedia link...
Ohhhhh, that debate.
Where do i find the actual debate in the talk article?
I’m disappointed that the debate wasn’t about casting someone else besides Benedict Cumberbatch.
