Israel abusing Palestine is something that has been going on for decades already.
I remember watching IDF soldiers murdering Palestinian children (because they threw rocks at them) on the news when I was a child.... That was 40 years ago.
I remember a Dutch politician got into hot water because his wife put up a Palestinian flag on her home to draw attention to the Palestinian situation. The reaction was exactly the same, she was labelled an antisemite
I have nothing against Jews , I have nothing against anyone, not for sex, gender, race, skin color, sexual preferences, I don't care.
But fuck, Israel is making it hard not to judge all Jews. It's the Israeli government doing this but it still has wide support and way too many people there believe that this genocide somehow is justified.
And if you say that Hamas is bad, fuck right off. Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organization SUPPORTED BY THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT JUST SO THEY HAVE A REASON TO KILL MORE PALESTINIANS.
This is NOT a new thing, this has been going on since, well, pretty much since Israel was founded

That was pretty exact and a delight to read. There are millions of ppl with common sense who know how to analize basic history like you. The problem in this freak modern media world is no one is allowed to speech 'that long' before being interrupted with some Cpt. Obvious strikes again 'but the right to defend...', 'do you support terrorists' or 'are you antisemite'. Argumentative dialoge is long dead.

It shouldn't make it hard. People are shitty. There's a lot of shitty people. But there are many Jews are highly and publicly opposed to Israel. Judge based on actions and don't label groups as all one type unless the group's alignment by itself is ill
That was sort of my point. I don't want to blame Jews, hell, I don't blame jews, but Israel is making that really really difficult with their actions
In that respect, I see israel as the biggest antisemitic threat to Jews. There is no other single entity that works so hard to make people hate Jews.

In 2004 the US invaded Iraq following the current war with Afghanistan after the towers fell. This comic has two buildings that look a lot like the World Tade Center.
If this isn't about israel I grabbed the wrong one. There is one that is just like this that very definitely is. I see the two towers looking buildings there, but I didn't think that was intentional. I'll see if I can find out.
Edit: I don't have the original context currently, but this URL suggests that in 2012 people believed this to be about Israel.

I remember being pissed off about what I saw Israeli tanks doing in gaza on the news in the mid-1990s, and suffice to say I was absolutely not primed to be doing anything but unconditionally supporting them at that time.
The Israelis have tarnished the reputation for Jewish people all over. I know that many (most?) of them are against it, but I know very sensible people who think twice before engaging with a Jewish person when it comes to politics, just to avoid being framed as an anti-semite. All this holier-than-thou victim blaming is actually responsible for many becoming anti-semites.
Pretty sure Jews outside of Israel are against what the Israeli state is doing to Palestine. But for Israeli Jews, unfortunately, last time I saw the survey, most of them approve of kicking the Palestinians out of Gaza and West Bank. They may not like Netanyahu and most know that he is prolonging the war to artificially extend the lifeline of his regime, but most approve of the overall right wing policies of Likud towards Palestinians.
Older Jews in my experience are zionist no matter their leanings.
I've heard people trash trump in one breath and go on to say "wipe them out" in the next.
Not to say all. Never. But the disconnect is there. Especially when they have family in Israel.
Have seen the moral fight in their mind as they watch the news. Most I saw someone admit was that they "were so tired of all the killing" and maybe a "netanyahoo" here or there.
But Israel is Israel.

being framed as an anti-semite
It's funny, my parents watch the PBS News Hour religiously. One night last year they ran a piece about how Israel was trying (and succeeding) to frame all criticism of Israel's actions as "anti-semitism". My parents were of course all "oh that's terrible what Israel is doing!" The very next night they ran a piece about how anti-semitism in the US was on the rise. My parents were of course all "oh that's terrible that anti-semitism is on the rise!" without making any connection at all between the two stories.
I have the same opinion of Israeli Jews as I have of Japanese people: you don't judge the individual who may have various views, you judge the voting block as a whole.
Same way I hold Japan responsible for pretending they didn't do war crimes, I also hold the Israeli people collectively responsible for the actions for their government.
They keep voting for it
relevant as ever. twenty years ago you could be fired for such a comic, you still can.
But did they say thank you even once??
