“I don’t think I should probably discuss this any further than that, my opinion is that it was self-done, and I have reasons for that.”

Is your reason green paper based? Or perhaps ideological? Maybe fear?

Let's be fair here. There's an investigation going on. As a law enforcement spokesperson, you don't just go blabbing case details willy nilly.

I mean, who do you think he is, FBI Director?

[-] theneverfox@pawb.social 16 points 11 months ago

It's so humiliating to have the director of the FBI bragging about mobilizing unnecessary (and very expensive) resources like he's desperately justifying his contribution to a group project

You'd have to watch his statement to get the full effect.

He was bragging about shit like deploying fixed wing aircraft to search the area (obviously hours after that would have been helpful), calling in FBI teams and going all hands on deck, getting himself and his sidekick to the scene within 48 hours to walk through for no reason

So in the same way a sandwich is, like, a thing with bread. Got it. Same page different dialect 👍

[-] theneverfox@pawb.social 1 points 11 months ago

Ok? I have no idea what you might mean by that, but I hope you sit through as much of his interviews you can stand, once you reach your limit of cringe you'll understand

In the same way a fire is like combustion?

[-] theneverfox@pawb.social 1 points 11 months ago

Sure, just like blood is conductive

They're saying no foul play because he didn't have broken arms or legs?!

I'd ask what kind of bullshit that is, but we already know: Mississippi

Look at the things the deceased said. Statements like 'I am a member of dsu'. 'I am a black man seeking an education and a nice life'. Clearly expressing intent to kill himself. Not every bad thing that happens is the fault of the cops, sometimes preople just kill themselves.

Stop being so conspiratorial.

How would someone even hang themselves off a tree? Was there a tipped over ladder found underneath? Like what fucking insane lunatic would ever thing that this was a suicide?

[-] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 34 points 11 months ago

Just to play the devils advocate, it’s possible to climb a tree, tie a noose, and jump off. Hanging from a tree has some serious connotations and it is possible - though Occam’s razor is against it - that this is a suicide. I’d expect a note to be found, though. It would be odd to choose such a loaded method and then not leave a manifesto.

[-] meco03211@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

Devil's advocate to your devil's advocate. I wouldn't presume suicidal people are in the right head space to consider the potential political ramifications based on the method they choose. Possible? Sure. I just wouldn't default to it.

[-] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 24 points 11 months ago

Racists trying to control the narrative. Tale as old as time in shithole Mississippi.

[-] Willy@sh.itjust.works 10 points 11 months ago

I mean I don't believe this is likely what happened, but trees are often climbable.

[-] einlander@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

This is how you end up with people shooting first and not asking questions.

[-] Formfiller@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

This seems very suspicious especially after maga was threatening black universities a couple days ago.
