They joke, but it's been a major hurdle for the Police and FBI in the past lol

Reminds me of that German police report of leftist groups during the pandemic. They wrote something along the lines of

Left extremist observe most of the rules imposed by the government and even further. But, shame on them, they do not do it, because of obedience towards said government, but because of solidarity with their vulnerable fellow human beings. We hate that.

Was quite funny 😅

That's gold, too funny.

I thought obedience towards the German government was a bad thing

The fact that you cannot divest humanitarianism from humanity should have been their first clue.

I watched “The Humanity Bureau” last night (2017, Nic Cage, on youtube for the moment) and that’s basically the theme. Definitely a B movie but a bit freakishly prophetic.

I was interested in the source of this post, what I found was a 2004 academic paper out of the university of South Florida which looked into how law enforcement is meant to combat "modern" (2004) anarchist criminals. I haven't read past the first page yet, but it looks interesting to see how cops try and parse anarchist ideologies as being solely "terroristic"

I like the phrase "the food is not necessarily only consumed by anarchists", as a begrudging acceptance that their in fact may not be a secret cult of poor people trying to bring down society and that they may just be poor people.

Reminds me of the post 9/11 attempts to infiltrate "radical Muslim" orgs, which consisted of conservative nutjobs approaching mosques and Muslims and asking insane questions about terror plots, to which the targets were like WTF are you talking about? Real waste of time and taxpayer money.

I could've sworn there was an undercover cop who was trying to bait Muslims into admitting to being terrorists, but they instead reported the guy for being a terrorist. I can't find the story. Older one, though.

[-] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 33 points 1 year ago

Yes I remember that, they played undercover recordings from one on npr I believe, it was just this guy being like SO WHEN WE ARE GONNA JIHAD?!? Just over the top aggressive to some very confused and then concerned people, it's no wonder he was reported for it.

"So are you guys not interested in the potluck on Thursday or not? I'll warn you though, you're going to have to take off your New Balance sneakers when you come inside though..."

Two undercover agents unknowingly get into leftist purity test argument on a forum.

Thank you, I had it opened to add it to the post description, but forgot. That's my bad

It’s a natural defence mechanism.
