General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Leading climate figures and Labour MPs have urged Keir Starmer to attend the crucial Cop30 climate summit this November, after aides advised him not to attend for fear of attracting the ire of the Reform party.

Does this guy have any principals he is willing to stand up for?

Any positive ones? No.

Now when it comes to making poor people poorer and rich people richer, he'll hold the line proudly.

I didn't realise Keir was beholden to the Reform party. I thought it was a Labour government that was voted in? Silly me.

Giving "party over country" a different meaning.

Honestly it's pathetic.

Let's say that he goes and reform attack him for it, so what. They're slinging mud as it is, much of it isn't even sticking because it doesn't make sense to anyone with a brain.

Meanwhile labour are losing supporters because Stammer is unwilling to really do anything radical, which is clearly what people want.

What ever PR team he has, he need to fire, because they're literally worse then useless.

History scoffs at this performative bs and at starmer and his failures.

Cop30? The summit for which a swathe of the Amazon rainforest was bulldozed? Can't say I'd attend, either.

Perhaps he will send Rachel "First Green Chancellor" Reeves in his stead.
