so true :) I was explaining my missus about the blackout and she thought that meant I will have more time(Reddit is top of my screen time) that I can use to do other things, little did she know that I’m going to be wasting it on Lemmy lol.

in fact, my excitement about lemmy has left me with even less time, the irony

Getting of crack by switching to cocaine

Haha "Rexxit" is amazing!

[-] Neil@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 years ago

Glad to see Lemmy finally taking off. I'm honestly scared the Reddit admins will buckle. This is where everyone should be. We can make this place as great as Reddit and it will be even better due to the decentralized nature of the network.

Part of me is sad that this is needed, but it's also exciting to try something new

[-] sparky@lemmy.pt 1 points 3 years ago

Me too.. after 12+ years of being a Redditor, sad to see they ran it into the ground. Alas, onward and upwards..

[-] thedeserter@lemmy.fmhy.ml 8 points 3 years ago

Rexxit!!! Dig the name. It’s the era of lemmingration!

[-] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 0 points 3 years ago

Kinda getting ahead of myself here but if this place comes under attack (whether that's in the form of a bot invasion, denial of service, etc.), we could call it the siege of Lemmingrad.

[-] z3k3lon@lemmy.pt 1 points 3 years ago

It's all fun and games until the bot army arrives. They shall not pass!

[-] thedeserter@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 3 years ago

Omg! I wish to participate on the front lines of this epic battle! I will be there!

[-] LemmyAtem@beehaw.org 7 points 3 years ago

LMAO reddit is a GREAT name for it.

Autocorrect is in the pockets of big reddit

[-] Wander@yiffit.net 6 points 3 years ago

This is actually a genius idea on how to continue the protests after the 14th. Even if the blackout won't last longer content creators should post content increasingly elswhere or additionally to reddit somewhere else and increase the viability of a replacement.

[-] notsorryforpartying@lemmy.world 5 points 3 years ago

Funny enough, you're one of the content creators by commenting! The comments and discussions were my favorite part of reddit and we're bringing the comments with us over here to Lemmy!

[-] sparky@lemmy.pt 1 points 3 years ago

Can we set up some Reddit bots that just comment on every post with a link to a Lemmy thread? Haha

[-] MinkLitly@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 years ago

Lemmy is one of the few platforms I actually want to be active on

Honestly, Lemmy has seemed really nice so far.

Also Rexxit💀

[-] taj@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 years ago

It's taken me a bit to get used to and get it setup, but I'm liking it more and more, the longer I'm on it :)

[-] chaoticPuppies@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 years ago

This is a desperately needed event. I was talking to my friends about how the internet has become so horribly concentrated to just a few mega-tech corporations. It has stifled innovation and creative freedom. The web has been strangled by the limitations of corporate greed.

Rexxit is awesome!

[-] pancakes@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 years ago

I've had a Reddit account for over 11 years and this feels like when i first found Reddit. It has that nice, friendly vibe.

[-] heimchen@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 years ago

Rexxit is awesome, gone call it like that from now on.

[-] sverit@feddit.de 1 points 3 years ago

Feels fresh and cozy, I like it, too :)

I nuked my accounts at reddit just before the strike as a final move out of frustration. It was tough not knowing what the next day was going to look like. The people and the communities mean the world to me no matter the size and I am forever grateful of the hard work that was put in over there. I look forward to watching things grow over here and hope the initial learning curve is not too challenging for everyone and that it inspires more development than reddit ever did.

[-] Veritrax@lemmy.world 1 points 3 years ago

I'm picking it up bit by bit. Honestly I think a lot of my issues were getting used to the Jerboa app. A little more UI refinement and a few qol features and I'll never look back

[-] clawer87@reddthat.com 0 points 3 years ago

Does Lemmy have awards? Because this might have been my first one.

[-] taj@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 years ago

Lolol it should!
