  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including all information that can initiate conversations when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world

It’s going pretty ok. I’m 2 of 3 work holiday parties down with one more tomorrow, then a family gathering this weekend. After that, I’m off for 2 weeks and I plan to mostly just hang with my bunnies, read books, and play video games. I’m going to introvert the crap out of my holiday break!

Bossman/supervisor left for the US for a conference, which led me to see the surprising fact of... to put it nicely, how much some of my colleagues really prefer having a flexible work-from-home schedule lol. I have some personal opinions on why they are hosting a top research conference in Texas out of all places, in this economy... but I digress

Went to two nearby cities for day-trips over the weekend (for fun) and yesterday (for a Meetup) group, which were nice. And I accidentally stumbled upon a local rhythm game group which I was very happy for, hopefully I can join in on some of their future events

I pulled four all nighters this past week to get my finals done. Now I'm done with the semester, have a 4.0 GPA, and feel vaguely like I've been hit by a train.
