Hey,

I'm looking for the Fediverse alternative of Strava. Something which could :

  • track running/walking, etc, with maps
  • track workout without map (like bodybuilding, etc.)
  • sharing with friends, with ActivityPub
  • have history, and totals of activities, like total of kms, total of hours per activities, etc.

I've found those, but: wanderer.to -> not really to record workouts, running etc. This looks like to have a catalog of trail maps intervals.icu -> not with ActivityPub Fittrackee.org -> not with ActivityPub, and looks only for travelling sports, not for sports without maps.

Have you any clue ?

The closest i know is a selfhosted strava clone called Endurain- https://docs.endurain.com/ I have not had time to look into it yet so im not sure what it is build on.

I use endurain but mostly to backup my Garmin activities.

It's nice, lots of development and efforts and very polished.

Thanks it looks nice, the only miss of this software looks to be ActivityPub compatible : It looks a bit crazy to selfhost a social network, you'll be alone...

But apparently the ActivityPub should arrive : https://github.com/endurain-project/endurain/issues/108

I use FitoTrack, which I found on FDroid. It's reliant on third parties (Mastodon, etc) for sharing, but it does all that.

I use FitoTrack, seems to track walking/running the best. Haven't tried it with other workout types though

I like RunnerUp on Fdroid

I use wanderer.

It works fairly well to document and organize my hikes.

@non_burglar @maaaaaaaaat Thanks for that recommendation! I use AllTrails and the vendor lock-in and aggressive ads for premium are terrible

It looks to be to save and share hike, trail map, But not to save hike trail performance, Am I right ?

[–] non_burglar@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

Ah, yes, I suppose that's true. My apologies.

This would be pretty cool, if you build it I'll come :)

I moved away from Strava when they first started putting stuff behind a paywall, and just keep everything inside Garmin. But can't stand that they've come up with connect+ BS

I’m not remembering the exact name, but there is a self hosted “FindMy” alternative type thing. I’m pretty sure it includes breadcrumb style tracking and a whole bunch of other datapoints. Could probably just reference the csv from an interface designed for runners.

No quite Fedi, but could be incorporated…

Doesn't activity pub means your workouts, maps would be essentially public? That would be something for stalkers, and big tech would surely scrape that too.

Not what you're searching since it has no social components and is not for gym workouts, but I really like Geoactivity Playground. It takes your Strava Export or uses your GPX files and does really interesting statistics with it. Kind of like Veloviewer, but selfhosted
