Sadly all the videos I watch are basically YouTube only. It would be nice if the people I watch are nidged towards peertube but that would make even more work and stress for them.

A lot of them also make money off their videos on YouTube which is keeping them on there, sadly.

What's the difference between Fb groups and a Matrix room, I don't use Fb so have no idea what makes groups special.

Yeahir hasn't really taken off but I guess it will take some time. There's a town in France that created their own instance to showcase their local groups' events on their official website and I think that's the most likely way that it might take off if local governments start promoting it that way.
